This too much lift or just right for a stock suspension 4R?

I'm looking at this kit:

Will my car look whack or better leveled out at 2.5" front and 1.5" per the DayStar kit?

I like how it sits now.

Here are three options, in the order in which I would prefer them.

1. Level it and get bigger tires
2. Keep it stock and possibly get bigger tires
3. Get the Daystar kit and definitely bigger tires

Yea, your ride sits good for the style your going for there. If anything I'd say go with just the level front and one size up tires. 265/70/17

i could be wrong but i think these limited wheels are 18".

it looks good as is. if you keep the same size tires , maybe raise the front 1 in. to better level it, but if ya get the DS 2.5/1.5 go up to at least 265/70 tires . man, im a big fan of black on black, its sweet lookin! have you given any thought to blacked out headlights?it would sort of resemble FO SHEEZYS.

I believe that any lift will look good. One thing that I notice on many of member's lifted 4th gens is the front of the running board sits higher than the back of it even when getting a cornfed 3/2 especially on the daystar 2.5" front lift only. I cant stand it - it looks silly that the front of the car is higher than the back and it will be especially evident with the style running boards you have.

My advice for aesthetics as I think your car looks great already is ensure you keep some of the factory rake. This way when you have more than 2 people in the car or you load up the back you dont get rear end sag with the front end well above the rear.

I recommend a lift in equal proportions (1/1 - 3/3)

I think your rig would look nice with that kit and some bigger tires. That is the same kit I was considering before I decided to save my dough for OME or Toytec CO's.

It is also the same kit that J.A. put on his 07 Sport.

man you guys really came up strong with the good advice. appreciate it very much.

-i think for now i'll keep it as is till my tires go stale in about 10K miles (yes, they are 18" limited wheels) and maybe get the adjustable coilovers and set it exactly how i want since this is a commuter car for me (i like the smooth hwy drive of the completely stock suspension)

-i'm a fan of contrast and don't like the tinted lights action very much at all, thx though for the suggestion

Nice 4Runner! I would say go with the front spacer and then upgrade the tires or go with the Daystar kit that JA has. His 4Runner sits perfect!

Good point... IronCladLou has a 2/2 now for this very reason. If you search his username you'll find some pics, it looks great! :bigok:
