Thoughts for Slider?

I'm ordering some new Budbuilt sliders tomorrow, and I'm wondering what those of you who have these (or similar sliders) may think about doing the split step plates like this. I'm also considering dropping the angle of the upward bend from 10 degrees to about 5 degrees so that it's a little lower and easier to step onto for my wife and daughter. Nothing crazy, but curious to hear from those who have sliders...thanks!

No secret, they just takes while cause they are hand built by a pretty busy group.

You need to add about $75 to the cost for the tread plate.

i do like that plate! looks well laid out and constructed too!

It's just the cheap bastard inside of me asks what makes those worth the extra 300$ then say the 4x innovations sliders? I read / hear that 'Shrok' makes top notch stuff, and your pictures demonstrate that, but savage is 351$ (shipped) and 4x innovations is 255$ (shipped), Shrok's material is only .014 thicker (.134 instead of .120)....

your sliders look really good! no doubt, i guess you have to pay for that look & name...

thanks for the pictures! the ones from Shrokwors website are very lacking in detail, appreciate your testimony, good looking rig!

Yes, all tread plate sliders we sell are laid flat rather than angled up 20 degrees like our standard sliders.

If you're wanting them for steps I say go this route. I had the full plate budbuilts on for a day and hated them. I immediately ordered the step ones from Shrockworks and love them.

The budbuilts are much easier to mount but you only do that once.

Here's a better math equation for you..
Someone took the time to design a well built, fantastic product with good results and good reviews + My wife raves about them and how functional they are + they look BAD ASS! & It's protection for your truck (main purpose of sliders) = It's worth the money.

This isn't a pair of shoes that you are going to replace once a year, it's a lifetime purchase.

Alternative opinion:

My wife is 5'2" and has no issues using standard angled BAMF sliders as steps. Angled has a lot less tendency to get hung on stuff on the trail, provide a little better rocker protection and look better in my opinion....

I put on Demello sliders because I liked how they looked. Still do.

But if I did it again, I'd opt for flatter and wider so they could be used as a step.

+1 for the shrockworks dimple plate sliders, i can't comment on how the install is relative to other slider brands, but there are 2 parts of the install that require a little work, but not much with the right tools. (there is a more detailed install thread somewhere in here)

1) drilling 1 hole in the frame. really no big deal. i believe the hole need be 3/8". i simply bolted the slider up using a jack to hold it tight to the frame, started a small pilot hole and enlarged until i hit 3/8" (#2 below is more tedious than drilling this hole imo)

2) releasing gas skid/gas tank (DO THIS WITH TANK EMPTY!) release outer edge of gas tank skid (do not have to remove whole thing) and release the forward gas tank strap (a large socket can be place atop a jack and raised/inserted thru a hole in the gas tank skid to pin the strap upwards against the tank, this way when releasing the strap nothing moves)

I did my install by myself using jack stands, the gas tank strap was easy for me but could be because I have an RCI gas skid (and was on empty). The only issue I had was on one stick nut trying to line up, that was on passenger side back, I ended up getting a longer bolt and it went in the first try after that, course that was where I started.

As stated above though, quality product and in my mind can't be beat if you want a step platform as well. If only they could deliver in less than like 4 months...
