I understand what they metered at but what were the advertised % of the tint on the front windows?

Old thread but timely. Va is just getting ready to allow 35% this year. Up to now has been 50%. I'm waiting for it to pass and will install 35% on my fronts.

Currently surrounding states allow 35%.

Have 50% on my other car now and it barely looks like it has anything.

Don't know how you guys get by with 15% or darker. In VA currently will get stopped and ticketed if the tint appears too dark. Have an employee who got a DUI after being stopped for the tint. Not worth the risk to me to have a cause to be pulled at any time.

Have you (or anyone else) tried using polarized sunglasses with the windshield? I'm wondering if you get that same odd spotty glare as when I see some other windshields.

I have 30% over the factory on all the rear areas + 15% on all the fronts. It almost matches - the front is just a little less than the rear. I'll take a picture later and add it to the post.

The only thing I've noticed with polarized glasses so far is that things that would normally provide glare (other windshields, puddles, anything reflective) takes on a blue/green tint. It's slightly distracting, but there are a lot of people that pay good money to feel like they are tripping :thumb3:

Well, I got the front two tinted Friday (only $70 - and this is one of the best tint guys in the city - I've taken about a dozen cars to him). He didn't have the Llumar stuff and only had 45% tint for the windshield so I passed. I may keep searching or just skip it altogether.
