Tinted Windshield at 50%. Pics. Reference etc.

No shops around here will do the windshield? Anyone in FL do it (got thier windshield tinted) or know if it's legal in the sunshine state. I don't want to ride dirty, they will pull you over for little shit here at the beach. But ..... would like the inside a bit cooler.

On a side note your blacked out rigs look like my Fatboy.

Florida doesn't care about window tint, basically the only state that I know of that doesn't. They do have laws against it but they don't enforce them. Not all shops will do your windshield, and not all shops will tint windows below legal limit; but there are a lot that do!

i think it looks sick. that adds to a clean look. ive wanted something on the front for UV protection.
i have 5% basically on all the backs and 15% on front windows...its a bit dark. i have problems seeing at night sometimes. but i just always back in to a parking spot cause it makes getting out easier.

yeah i live in FL too. Ive got 35% on my windshield. 2% on driver and passenger and 1% on back windows

Those windshield tint jobs look AMAZAZING!!!! I have limo or 5 % all the way around on my runner and I love it, EXCEPT when im driving at night because i cant see a damn thing. but if I redo my tints in doing the windshield!!! Good work guys!

nice tint, is there a lighter one? im sure its a cop magnent, well as for me, i want to do that, but working at the airport the sherrifs are always free to pull people over.

yeah I thought so. i just couldn't figure out why you were worried about the windshield if your windows are 5%? I had 5% on my previous vehicle and 20% down the windshield. I could see fine at night if there were no lights on in the vehicle. Even if the radio was on it was hard to see. Do you notice a big difference heat wise with the 50%? i am about to tint my windshield and trying to decide how dark to go.

Heat difference for sure. Its substantially cooler inside, especially when the truck is sitting out in a hot parking lot for a while. Also at night, everyone with their HID's and OEM xenons do not blind you anymore

I could have done the tint in any other in 10% intervals. 40, 50, 60, 70 pretty much. Here in CA they get on your ass for tint. Its a joke. Ive had cops see me going in the other direction and bust U-turns through heavy traffic streets to get me. $25 fix it ticket....

How much does it usually run and what kind of effects would i see if i went with say 60% or 70% so i still get some protection, can see good and dont attract the police? The only thing keeping me from tinting my front windows is i dont know what the good quality tints are andyou have to leave that small untinted piece on the edge of the glass. I dont know why but that really bugs me.

I got mine done for 120. At 60-70% I dont think you would get hassled by the cops. What do you mean about leaving a small untinted piece on the edge of the glass?

I so need to get my windows tinted. Every summer I swear I'm going to do it....and then I find other mods I have to sink the $$ into! lol

Thanks for the comments on the bike - I have a chromeed out Vmax as well and it's a PIA to polish and keep clean. Had lots of this HD on powder coated - just wipe it down and go.

Sorry to hijack.....

I have the sun strip - but not the whole windshield. Just the strip at the top and it's not a very agressive percentage just a few inches. I also put up one of those folding deals when the rig is parked to keep it cooler but like the idea of the whole deal tinted. I do see how it could be a problem at night if it's too dark.
