Tire size for 5th gen

I have a 2010 t4r trail with a 3 inch ome lift, 275/70r18 Mickey thompson's and steel American racing rims. I was wondering if anyone has tried 285/75r18s cause my tires are getting old and was looking to go bigger if possible, I have the front wells scoped out to fit my arb bumper and it looks to have enough room but I was wanting to see if anyone's tried that size on the 5th gen t4r's?

There are a couple guys running 18's but I am not sure tire size. Maybe not 285/75's but close. Try a search. Snow&surf has 18's and Shrockworks
 
Move up to 295 70 18 instead of 285 75 18. Probably need to chop body mount. Nobody is running 75s with this width on this gen.
 
Whiskey is right. I'm running 295/65R18 which is 33.1", 285/75 is 34.8". Even with my bumper and castor set to 4.0* I rubbed the body mount and needed to chop them. You'll most likely need to do a BMC and get new gears to move those meats and have the same drivability.
 
I also run 295/65x18's with Icon co's and LR uca's. I have caster set at 5.5+ no rub on body mount but it is very very close. Are you running aftermarket uca's? If so +4 caster and 285's you should be okay.

I agree, +4 with 285s is OK, but the OP should be concerned about the aspect ratio of the tire he wants, not the section width. A 285/75R18 tire measures just about 35" overall diameter. We're both running a 33" diameter. With my caster at +4.0 (aftermarket UCAs) I rubbed, yours at +5.5 almost rubs. Even if the OP sets his caster to +5.5 he will most likely rub the body mount because of the tire diameter.

Absolutely! :iagree: I just wasn't clear. I always think of 285's as being 285/70 I assumed that the OP would know that a 35" tire isn't going to fit

I need some help here folks. I have a 2010 Limited with the 20 inch wheels that came stock on it. The tires on it are the Bridgestone 245-60-R20 size that came on it from the factory. It's time to replace them and no one, including Toyota dealerships can find them. I dont necessarily want Bridgestones, but no one can find a tire in this size. Anyone have any alternative sizes that will fit the 20s I have on right now? Getting desperate here.
