Tire Wobble Diagnosis Help... Any and All Help!

So I figure not all of you care, but I have some closure/resolution.

I brought my truck back to who mounted/balanced/aligned my truck & tires and they thoroughly inspected it. The result was a slipped belt in that tire.

Called TireRacks customer support line and spoke with Maggie. First of all she's a sweetheart, and secondly they are sending me a replacement tire with next day delivery AND sending UPS out to pick up the bad tire once I get the new one installed. TireRack has won me over for sure. They're a great company.

Thanks everyone for the help! Some or most of you guys even guessed a bad belt!

Just an observation that I think is funny but I love it how the threads like this about brand new tires going bad don't get a second thought... If this was a TreadWright thread there would be flaming everywhere! So I'll add my comical 2 cents.. Obviously BFG's are no good and unsafe so I'll never ever ever ever buy them!!!!!!!!

I've always had good luck with BFGs. This experience has put a bad taste in my mouth for BFG, but I'm aware accidents happen. I might try Goodyear on my next set. I'm glad TireRack is standing by their products though.

its not common, but I have seen more than a few NEW tires that were bad, it does happen.

I wouldn't toss BFG's out that quickly. that is one isolated incident.

the 35" BFG's on my 85 runner are 13-14 yrs old and probably 50,000 miles. they still have a lot of tread, and go smoothly down the road. I do get a slight vibration at highway speeds, but that's only because they aren't balanced...

I have a set of 35" BFG's on my tow rig. they are probably 10 yrs old, again, no issues. they are a great tire no doubt.

when I worked tires for a living, Goodyears were far and away the worst tires for separation. just something to think about....

Oh, I'm not throwing BFG out just yet. I've had 29" Rugged Trails, 31" All-Terrains and now the 35" All-Terrains. I had the 33" Nitto Mud Grapplers but they're too soft and lose tread quickly. I was considering Goodyear Duratracs or Toyo Open Countrys but decided I'd go with BFG because of past performance experience. You're right, BFG's last forever.

My BFGs wobble a bit too. Got a new set for my F150 and they had a hell of a time balancing them. Discount Tire said they are notoriously hard to balance. They put an insane amount of lead on my rims and they still are "as close as they can get".
