Tiregate Hitchgate Installed

So here is where I had things all mocked up and and some what fitted into place
As you can see now I have just enough space for my arm between the tiregate and rear hatch.
So there's two places ou need to chop in order to get everything as close as possible ..one is the tongue going into the receiver and drilling a new hole and two is the tube that extends out for the tire mount which I will attach a photo of.

Here's a shot while wheeling you can see it don't shift around or nothin and that's also a 285/75/16 on there the first 3 pics are with a 265/75/16

Also I added a hinged fold down table that behind the tire area also a mount for the base to my hi lift and a mount for the hi lift tire attachment

Wow! wish you were closer to Seattle, I would pay you to mod one for me. Like the wilco since its not permanetly stuck to your vehicle. Do you think a welder or another shop would be best to go to for this? thanks

That is a great looking mod. I was just looking on Ebay and noticed they have one for just over $400. That's quite a bit cheaper than the one at the Wilco site. Any thoughts?

Almost looks like all you get is the hitch receiver and not the swing arm....

That is a great looking mod. I was just looking on Ebay and noticed they have one for just over $400. That's quite a bit cheaper than the one at the Wilco site. Any thoughts?

You beat them to it and it looks great! I like how you reduced the distance off the vehicle as well :yo:

It is just the hitch reciever ..no swing arm included.
It's to build your own / and Wilco replacement part number.

I appreciate that ...yeah I've noticed more and more people wanting that added accessory..
but also there's another issue that needs to be addressed when adding a fold down table...and only an issue a that point. You know what is?

I appreciate that as well. I don't see why not especially if you bring them something already to work from a wilco tiregate. And then just a sketch of where you want things and it should be a breeze for them.

I would love to see some pics of the it all opened up. This is on my short list of mods right after my lift.

Any long term reviews? Are you guys regretting not going full rear bumper replacement? I'm in the market for something like this. I like the Wilco Tire Mount system. I need something to carry a full size spare down the road.

Once I figured it all out, I went ahead and did all the work as well..haha
I've done much more to my tiregate than just this mod

This is the tiregate as ordered from Wilco. No mods besides the antenna and the antenna mount.

Dude there is absolutely NO rear visibility here! Ive been worried about losing my backup camera and sensors, but this I see way more scary lol

I'm thinking of fabricating a homemade hitch mounted spare carrier and was looking for some insight...
1) Do I need to buy locking hitch pins to ensure people will not take off the setup to take the wheel/tire?
2) Do I need to buy locking lug nuts to keep people from possibly removing the wheel/tire from its mount?

I don't foresee anyone trying to steal my spare but you never know in this world we live in today
