Finally my insurance settlement has come through and it was deemed a total loss(just look at the photos in my profile), body damage alone was $9800 and thats not including rear axel damage and engine seizure. Well to the point, I am buying my new 2006 T4R SE within the next day. I am not sure what color I want, at one point I was leaning towards the ShadowMica but felt it was darker than what I wanted. Well to the point, color preference, Titanium or Galactic Gray. My last 4Runner was Titanium and looked great, now I am leaning towards the Galactic Gray. One issue about the Galactic Gray that somewhat bothers me, that blueish tint in the color, in some angles it looks purple. Maybe it is me, tell me what you think and tell me what color T4R SE I should get.

I really like the Galactica Grey. For me, its dark enough that I like it, yet light enough for me to get away with not necessarily washing it as much as I should. Don't get me wrong, I like light colors too, but I'm a fan of darker colored cars, just not always a fan of keeping them clean. Weird, since I used to wash my first car probably once every two weeks, and kept it detailed. Now I just don't have that kind of time. Nor really a place to keep up the detail. I think the galactica grey lets me do that while still being dark enough.
On the other hand, my dad has the titanium, and i really like the color too.. Looks quite sharp.
But something about the galactica grey at night for me. Just the way the light hits it at night, especially when clean....

I agree with Alpha. Every time I see a Galactic Gray 4Runner cruise under street lights at night, I remember just why I love that color. The neat thing about Galactic Gray is it looks like a dark gray at night, but isn't too dark during day. Under lights at night or direct sunlight in the day, the tint of blue pearl comes out, which I like. It may look slightly purple, but I think it gives the truck a very unique look. All the other cars and trucks that are gray are just that... flat gray. I do like the Titanium also, but my last car was silver and I'm kind of bored of it. And the shadow mica is nice because it's dark, but I think it has too much sparkle to it. I decided to go with Galactic Gray because it looks so cool (and is easy to keep looking clean!). Anyway, that's just my 2 cents... good luck with your decision!

Truthfully I think they are both boring drab colors. I will be getting salsa red in 07 but they really should call it old man red. Why is Toyota so afraid of bright vivid colors?
I started off liking the GG color, but I didn't like the purple-tint that appears in certain lighting.
I also like the Titanium color, but almost every 4G 4Runner (and other car on the road) is silver (or seems to be).
I went with white since I wanted a light color. I think it looks good on the '03-'05 Sport Edition with the contrasting black (trim inside the hood scoop, running boards) and silver accents (luggage rack, bumper trim). I'm not so sure I like it on the '06 SE with the smoked chrome grill.
For the '06, I would strongly consider the Shadow Mica color, though White would still be a fairly strong candidate.

I have just made my purchase!!!!! I got a 2006 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition V6!!! I know my post asked about Titanium and Galactic Gray and in the end I chose neither. Seeing the Shadow Mica in the beautiful sunlight at the dealership stole my heart. I was skeptical at first with Shadow Mica being too close to a black but it isn't. The long shot choice came through unexpectedly. After seeing member Matoolie's Titanium 2006 t4r se, it made me want to go with the Titanium once again. The Galactic Gray, I absolutely love but that slight purple tint in weird lighting got to me, so I figured back to Titanium once again but once I laid eyes on the Shadow Mica, I was in loooovvveeeeee. Will be posting pics soon!!!
