Bumper and carrier were powder coated at Custom Coatings up in Berthoud, CO. They do really nice with a pretty quick turn around.
Some shots from the bumper install.
First things first, remove the trailer light wire from the bumper!
This bolt wasn't going for it so.....
Dropped the old hitch. It's pretty heavy so used the jack to hold it in until I removed all the bolts.
More pics... Those 21 year old bolts looking rough.
Don't forget this wire loom on the bumper before dropping it.

Another casualty :
It's pretty straight forward to take the rear bumper off. PB Blaster is your best friend!! Soak everything overnight and even then, its a good ideal to have an angle grinder on hand... if you don't have one use this an excuse to add it to your tool collection!
Next challenge :
Sonoran Steel Poly Body Mount vs Stock:
I had to use shorter bolts to fit in that tight space. Ace hardware for the win.
Bumper mounts up so easy. Not a single issue!
Zip tide the license plate wire to the tire carrier with enough slack to fully open.

Looking at the same rear bumper in my garage now. Glad to hear the install was an easy one.
Also, after a fair amount of research, I too put the iKamper atop my list. I plan to haul it on a utility/camping trailer instead though. Kudos on the pulley set-up! Nice. I was envisioning something just like that, but for a carport that I still need to construct as my garage door opening will be too low...

I jumped on the iKamper via Kickstarter... it took forever to get it but I'm glad I did it. It wouldn't fit in my old garage so sat on its side all winter. Then it lived on the runner for a few months until I moved and bought a new house in March that had a bug garage.
The pulley system is awesome. Needed to add some length to the stock rope and off course some huge heavy weight straps to hold the weight up there.
I added an Exped megamat Duo 10 for sleeping and it is awesome... unfortunately can't close the lid with it full of air... but I've got air on board so not biggie.

Curious, were you able to close your rear hatch with that bumper in there? I took a quick measurement today, and it looks to be a damn tight fit. I can see how one seat down, one up can be beneficial though...

@TMP I am considering iKamper and I was wondering if you could provide some reviews and comments. It seems like everyone loves them but they are a bit $$$. I used to have a Tepui Autana Sky that I sold with my 80 series a couple years back when my kids were little but am ready to get back into camping and was thinking this would be a great way to go. It does look a little big on a 3rd gen but has to be a little more aerodynamic than the typical RTTs. Thanks! Great build btw!
