Believe it or not before purchasing my 4Runner and joining this forum, I DID search for and find a thread on things that Are annoying or that owners dislike abut their 4Runers. Didn't stop me from buying one though

I think I want 285 Trail Grapplers and a 3" lift, will I still be able to get 19mpg?
What kind of mileage are you getting with your lift?
These are my two wheel choices I've narrowed down, help me decide? Oh thanks for your input I don't like what you've suggested, I opted to do it opposite.
What pressure should I run my LT tires? 44psi? 32psi? 38psi?
Other repetitive questions that are posed on a regular basis have been repeated in earlier posts on this thread, I usually just skip over them. If you take out that fluff though there are a lot of things here that I have learned and enjoyed reading (Camping at the COVE is still hands down my favorite thread, oh and the FJ Summit thread and associated pictures).

That's the normal thing to do in our age of information...at least that's what the savy consumer should do. Of course, the 4Runner isn't for everyone but as far as frequent or recurrent problems go....not too many from I can see.

Fuel Pressureization something or other
This has something to do with a fuel pressure or vacuum check thingy. I can't remember exactly what the dealer told me, but it does something every few hours. It is a humming type noise that goes for a few minutes. You're good!

Then later in the thread, you can conclude that the guy idles a lot, does short trips and drive 80MPH on highway during winter. Then even later on you have this one that brags about his 22MPG average without mentioning that he does 90% suburban driving at 45MPH.

a search button that actually works would be nicer than putting up a whole bunch of threads that nobody will read.
i myself like to read, i love to learn, and i used the search function alot before i ever made my first post.
the "google search" at the very top header bar, works better than the "search this forum" button. when i was looking for a set of stock 20" LE wheels to put on my tacoma, i went to the 5th gen for sale thread and used the top right "search this forum" i typed in (OEM 20) and came up with no results, so i typed in (factory 20) and came up with no results, then i typed in (limited 20) and got no results., so i typed in everything again using the "show posts" rather than the "show threads" and still got "no results match your search"
so i went to the "google search" at the top header bar and it worked much much better and gave me alot more results, although the results were full of every thread that had anything to do with OEM 20s, and not just the for sale threads. so it took alot of weeding to get the info i needed. i was very very discouraged about the search function. after getting more time one day, i sat on the computer and searched thru about fifteen pages of for sale stuff till i found a set. the listings were there, the search function just would not find them like it should have.

How do we convince Toyota Corporate to hire Antman, 1Engineer, Harper and Adio3x to design the ultimate V8 Super Charged 4Runner that will include all the bad-ass mods they have done thus-far. And while we are at it give Titanpat a job also to design the first 4Runner specific moded travel trailer.

And get 45mpg, fit any tire size and wheels regardless of backspacing/offset or width. Make no noises when the truck is off, come with a case of plastidip, a windshield antenna, and a 0-6" adjustable lift kit!
