Hi All,

Bought myself a nice little tent trailer that sits about 8' wide. Looking for some mirrors i can bolt on and replace the stock mirrors with - im not interested in the clip on variety sold at walmart etc - unless this becomes too expensive...

over at tacomaworld, they've got a few threads talking about it, but im not sure if they have the same mirrors as we do?

Any links to mirrors that definitally work would be great. Im in Canada, so shipping is not cheap and i want to get it right the first time around.

this is the idea that im after...null 2005-2014 Toyota Tacoma Power Heated Signal Towing Flip-Up Upgrade Black Textured Mirror Pair at 1A Auto.com

also i've read that dodge tow mirrors will fit with a bunch of work, but it can be done. Any insight there?

any help appreciated!

I believe the tacomas and 4r's have the same mirrors and I've seen a few pictures of the trade with dodge towing mirrors. (I never see any other towing mirror put on other than the dodge one) But to me the dodge towing mirrors are the ugliest one's out right now. They look like a skinny arm reaching out holding the mirror but obviously this is just an opinion. I've never seen a 4r with towing mirrors but I'm sure if a tacoma can than you can.

dodge tow mirrors are put on for style. just like most dodge owners that drive with their tow mirrors flipped out, the tacoma guys with the mirrors flipped out might not even know what a trailer is. Id be more interested in seeing if the tundra tow mirrors fit, they're more functional than the dodge ones too

After hunting and researching I came to the conclusion that there were no good OEM mirror replacements that worked on 4th gen 4Runners. IIRC, Tacoma don't fit.

I'd love to hear someone prove the above statement false.

I used the suction cup style - and was unhappy. Second time using them, went through rain, and the plastic mirror didn't do well with water as far as beading/visibility, and then one of the mirrors fell off and banged against the side of the vehicle.

The McKesh (from all reviews) seem to give great towing visibility, but are not simple to install, and may cause some damage to 4Runner's doors/plastic cladding.

I ended up going with Grand Aero towing mirrors and have had a decent experience. Not ideal, like the large towing mirrors found on full size trucks, but I have some visibility and confidence back. They can be ordered at CostCo and Amazon, and prices dip pretty low regularly. Via camelcamelcamel, I saw they dipped as low as $84.

I am also using the JR Products Aero Mirrors. I have the teardrop style that I use when towing our travel trailer. There is some mild vibration but overall an excellent option to use as needed. Well worth the $100.
