toyota maintance plan

just a quick question for you guys, does the maintance plans cover recommended maintance in the guide or just oil changes, tire rotations and such, i was just in for my 15k service checkup and according to the maintenance guide book they should have rotated tires check oil and fluids and inspect stuff as well as lube prop shaft, re-torque prop shaft bolt and clean cabin air filter. when i got my paperwork from dealer it showed they checked all the usual stuff and noticed the Cabin air filter was dirty but didnt clean it and at that time i didnt know that should have been part of the 15k service as per the maintance guide, according to my extra care packet it should be " all recommended services for normal operating conditions in the guide" just curious if anyone knows if this is true or if theres some catch before i go tomorrow and make a fuss, this is my first new vehicle and would like it to still be running good in 15 years or so.

personally I thought it just covered the oil change part and you had to pick up the rest{I haven't used mine yet as i've not done the mileage to have my 1st oil change}

Im a little confused about what is covered i purchased the 5 year extra care and from the website and my packet says that factory recommended maintenance is covered that is in the maintenance guide and would like to know if anyone has purchased the extra care, im pretty sure the normal 2 year maintenance just covers oil changes and such but when i purchased this at the dealership they led me to believe all the recommended mainenance is covered under this including the major services.

Maybe I have something different, when I bought my vehicle I got 170,000km of oil changes free which I took to mean I just pick up the rest

Toyota Care covers exactly whats in the manual. Nothing more and nothing less ("recommended or harsh conditions" mtx not included). If you purchase and extended version of this, it covers the same stuff. This is all under "normal driving conditions". So lets say you have this for 75k miles, you will get an oil change every 10k miles and they will check the rest of the vehicle for problems. If they find any problems, some will be covered under the original warranty, some may be covered under Toyota Care, and some (many) will be considered your fault - these you will pay for. IMHO these extended "care" programs are not worth the money - and that's exactly why they sell them..THEY make money off of them. I would get my money back for this extended program and spend it on anything else.....
