Toytec ultimate installed.....sounds?

Question for those with Toytec Ultimate lifts....

So I've had it installed since Tuesday, love it but I've noticed when I hit a sharp bump I hear/feel a clack like a loose tie rod or something?

It only happens on sharp bumps or speed bumps, like the rebound side of it.

Any ideas, maybe needs to break in? The temps have been in the high 40's so not sure if that has anything to do with the bushing on the UCA's?

I did notice they are a little noisy after I wash the 4runner but went away.

Other then that it drives super smooth on everything else.

Just feels chunky on sharp bumps.....

Also, what offset do I need to get away from rubbing the UCA's?

Hofs05 has a similar issue and I believe quite a few other members. Generally speaking, whenever you swap out suspension parts your going to acquire some new noises for whatever reason. My truck has an orchestra of noises. Depending on how many miles are on your truck you may want to inspect you LCA bushings as they may need ti be replaced. It may also the sway bar hitting the little bars that go along the skid plate.
 
I have the same issue but I am running the Overland Warehouse HD kit. I have had mine back in the shop and have had others look at it but nobody can figure it out. The most suspicious issue to me is that it is only present on the right side...
 
It's not super loud, sounds like a clacking noise as if something it hitting. Kind of like a bad tie rod....
I've heard of people completely removing the sway bar (which is what I think it is), I'm wondering how big of an impact that would have driving? I am also rubbing on the passenger side part of the sway bar....

I know on my Evolution, having upgraded the sway bars made it handle way better. That's on a sporty rice rocket though where tight handling and less body roll were desired.

Also, the "clacking" seems to happen on off cambered bumps or fast drop type bumps. Other then that, it rides better than stock.
 
The clanking I had was from that crappy mount for the 5160s jiggling and rattling around. My font swaybar is completely off and it rides the same as if I had stock suspension with swaybar on. I would crawl under there and make sure that the swaybar isn't shifting around and see if you can see any marks of where it is making contact. You could also completely remove it and see if the noise goes away.

I think I might take the swaybar out as well. You don't notice a difference?
 
I don't think it rolls anymore now than the stock setup. You're going to feel some change taking it out after driving with it in on your current setup.
 
Took the swaybar out today, no more clacking!

You were right I did feel a difference in side roll but I am going to roll with it for a while and see if I can get used to it.
 
Were you able to determine if the swaybar was making contact with anything or if maybe it was just loose?

just to clarify.. it's not a thud? i have the superflex springs in my rear.. and i kept the stock shocks for now.. when i go over a bump and the rear extends quickly. i get a bang/thud.. sounds like its more on the right rear but i think it's both sides doing it.. i'm wondering if another suspension piece is over extending? in my case though it could be my oem shock hitting it's own bump stop.. but i'm not worried about it i'll add bilsteins or similar later.

Sounds like you might be overextending the oem shock. You may be replacing them sooner than later.
 
I wasn't getting anything noise from the rear suspension.
The swaybar was hitting something but not sure what it was hitting. There is a mark on it so I am going to look closer and find out where it was hitting.

I had this happen right after my lift was installed. Upon closer inspection, the spacer plate between the frame and the sway bar had a gap due to a bolt being lose. After having it all tightened down...I've never had any issues with noises from the Toytec lift.
 
The swaybar was likely hitting the Skid plat brackets/braces. It either has to be ground down or spaced down.

Im talking about the 2 S shaped (~8" long) brackets that you had to take off to drop the sway bar.
