Traded 2011 4R for a GMC Sierra

I've had it one year (2015). But yeah, the GM forums are sometimes more of the same.

To the OP - If you do check out a GM forum, you'll likely be convinced that any day that ends without it spontaneously bursting into flames or worse is a good day (unless you have a '16, in which case all is sunshine and puppy dogs). But the 14's and 15's...

Fortunately my only complaint with it is a butchered seat belt recall "fix". I can't even blame the dealer, as the tech did the repair as instructed by GM. It's not a professional looking repair. Rumor is any new, unsold trucks under the recall got a better, more thorough repair than already owned trucks received, but I don't know that for fact.

I can agree that the Sierra forums having a larger % of negative experiences. Most of the guys modifying those vehicles arn't posting to "sierra" specific forums like us t4r.org guys do. They'll hit up pirate 4x4, lifted chevys, pearly bow ties, etc. The guys going to the Sierra Forums are mainly people who've just had bad experiences and wish to rant about it. I've see all the GM rants, but if you add up the % of reported issues vs. trucks sold. You'll find the issues arnt as bad after all.

I've put 31K miles on my truck with zero issues, Knock on wood. Had an "optional" recall on the headlights (not bright enough for some customers) new bulbs and a BCM reflash. Just put a new set of tires on last month ready to roll another 30-40k. Factory warrantied to 100k on power train.

My dad has a Honda Accord sport and loves it. The whole reason he got it was because its a 6 speed. Plus he doesn't care about the options you listed. I guess it's personal preference. It's still pretty fun to drive even with a 4 popper. I topped out at 112mph in it.

You are right, it is all personal preference. I think that if you are going to make a "Sport" version, it should at least have a sunroof. Comparatively speaking, the SE (Sport Edition) Camry has ground effects, different interior trim items (steering wheel, gauge cluster), McPherson Struts, Auto/Manual transmission, etc etc that make it more sporty. There are lots of other 6 speed cars out there that are so much more (TL, G35/37, 330/335i, etc). I would rather own the older 05-07 Accord V6 Sedan with a 6 Speed than the new Accord sport. Those would waste a new 4 popper.

I personally had the first generation Corolla XRS with the fully built 180 HP Yamaha engine and 6 speed tranny. That would walk away from other V6 cars with a manual all day long. It had no problem doing 115 MPH.

Good luck. Buddy has one and he gives mixed reviews. It's no Toyota. Don't expect the resale or reliability to be what you're accustomed to with the Runner.

My last 7 vehicles all Toyota

My last 7 vehicles all toyota trucks and suv's except for one Camry.
Mixed bag of problems, 2002 Tundra had transmission, torque converter replaced, manifold studs, fuel gauge sending unit, brake TSB front and rear, leaky roof. All before 30K.mi.
This 4R had front diff replaced because of needle bearing failure, left CV axle all around 45K.
So not all Toyotas are trouble free, but Toyota did fix, no questions asked under warranty.
I never really took off road or abused either.
