Good luck with it. I know reliability is very questionable but I bought a Durango in its very first model year (usually a major no no - think it was 1998?) and had it 9 years without a single problem. I had the 5.2 HEMI. Enjoyed it thoroughly and it served my family well. Hope you have the same luck but I don't know anything about their current product line.
Ummm there was never a 5.2 hemi
I suggest renting a sienna or odessey for a few days. You may not look "cool" driving one but minivans are practical. I own three SUVs, Xterra, 4runner and SantaFe. Once the lease is up for Santafe, I will buy a Sienna. Both my wife and I swore that our family will never be seen in a minivan, but after test driving sienna, we were sold. 3rd row seating in Pilot and Highlander is a joke.
My mom had the Jeep Grand Cherokee version, SRTRTMT, whatever.I believe it was a 5.9 Magnum V8 before the Hemi was brought back.
Again I appreciate all the feedback.
Yes I'm concerned on quality but reading Durango owners threads, these issues you refer to just don't seem to exist. However, I'm still concerned on quality and resale.
I have an Affiliate rewards number which gives me 1% below invoice plus any incentives and no fees. That helps with resale I think.

Seems like a good group. Not the same as 4Runner folks but the Durango pulls in a different crowd (mullet and all haha).
Again, I haven't even heard from my dealer in 2 days since the order was supposedly submitted and didn't even give them a deposit so I have plenty of time to back out.
However, the Durango is nice. If you guys haven't, go check one out for a test drive. Make sure it's a R/T.

1) Rig this so you can attach it to the hitch of your 4runner.
2) Throw one kid inside.
3) Done.
Your child will enjoy adventurous commutes that will undoubtedly become cherished childhood memories, and you get to keep your 4Runner.
I would rather have this 1988 Toyota Masterace Surf than a 2016 Dodge Durango R/T!
