Trail Edition is now officially the TRD Off Road

When will we know about color options? This news has me on the fence. I'll either jump into a 2016 TEP or a 2017 Crookedly badged TRD Offroad with custom floormats.

From that photo, it really does look like a teenager bought some aftermarket badges and stuck them on a Trail....but getting them on asap was more important than having them level.

Probably good for marketing. People will go gaga over it because it's easier to get than a TRD Pro while still having that aggressive TRD badge somewhere. With the way that 4Runner sales are going(didn't even imagine a BOF would sell this well in 2016), this is probably another good idea on their part.

Not only is the badge aggressive but I heard it makes the 4R more powerful and that all the TRDs are actually Transformers... The jury is still out if they are autobots or decepticons. :caked:

I'm the opposite. I think it really improves the looks of the SR5 body... Especially on my Barcelona Red TEP.

I'm with you, I really like the contrast....unfortunately with a silver trail I miss out on that. I was looking for red, but those are really hard to find!

I'm not sure I would say this is a "battle" I think the red looks good, I just personally like shades on cars not colors (black white gray).
And this was talking about the trim on the front bumper, not so much about the colors of the vehicle

Red was actually not even on my consideration list. I didn't care for it in the Toyota press photos. My local dealer had one with KDSS, so I went to test drive it an actually liked it a lot in person. The dealer searched all over for a white or blue TEP for me and the more I looked at the red the more I liked it, so I decided to pull the trigger. It is a great color and I love it now. Cleans up really well and looks great dirty, too.

i love that your truck is so subtly modded, but stands out from all the rest.

i also liked the contrast of the silver bumper, and i think the stock grill adds to that. after a while of having the black TOYOTA grill it just stopped feeling right to me, I put the aluminum RCI skids and silver filler plate on which helped for a while, but eventually i had em bed-lined. if i had kept the stock grill i would have kept the silver valences for sure.

Thanks! Well, it now has demello sliders and a frontrunner slimline II rack but still nothing too crazy.

I have the trail and my front bumper and entire grill is blacked out. I had about every feature possible. I think that it may be the Trail "Premium" you are looking for...

While I understand trying to sync up the Taco and 4Runner trim packages, the whole "TRD Off-Road Premium" thing is a little silly.

And that badge is ugly.
