I was expecting info on the 2017 to show up Oct 1, 2016 on toyota.com website. Guess that stuff that 2017 4Runner will be delayed is true.

I do not get why you would change the 'Trail' thing the last year of the generation and f-ck every body up. Poor bastards with 2017 are gonna be going to various websites and confused about what to buy.

Sure everybody else agrees, do the whole name change up thing when the 6th generation comes out.

IF there is a 6th gen. Conversations with Toyota at FJ Summit, after hours revealed there was a ton of debate internally if they even thought it was worth it given the increased hoops to jump through due to CAFE standards.

Interesting. I guess I'm not surprised. I can't see a lot of R&D time and money going towards a radically redesigned BOF SUV, but on the other hand they still sell almost as many 4Runners as Highlanders in the US and the Highlander only gets 2-3 mpg better EPA combined mpg.

Yeah, If I were Toyota I would do the same thing as I did with the Tacoma. If something is not broke why fix it? Just keep selling what you have until you either have competition or more rules take it out of play. I can see it now... Get the new 2023 4Runner! Same as the 2010 with updated front end and OutTune instead of EnTune! It would still sell 100K a year as long as gas stays cheap.

They have committed to building a 2017 4Runner but have not yet released the pricing details so it's no surprise they list the 2016 prices for the 2016 4Runner
