Trailer brake controller - where'd you mount them?

I searched and could only find a couple of photos. Obviously need to mount far enough away from the knee airbag so the controller doesn't turn into a missile in an accident.

I bought a Prodigy P2 today, but just can't seem to find that sweet spot. Also, did you drill a hole in the dash to run your wires through, or just run them long to the bottom of the dash then up and under?

I had the same unit installed this week. Low on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. Wires run tight under.

FWIW - I initially threw codes when used the manual lever. The trailer dealer installed a relay to avoid the back feed issue. I am still getting occasional codes and think I heed to have the persistent codes cleared.

Installed a Prodigy under the cigarette lighter in that little cubby hole. Had to drill a hole in the back left corner to run the harness; was just long enough, very happy w the results.

I broke down and ordered the Toyota harness from Prodigy today. Seemed like the guys over at Tundra Solutions (I used to own one) have had better luck with that than the glovebox pigtail.

Did you guys use the supplied pigtail or the Aftermarket harness?
