Trails along 395, near Lone Pine/Bishop?

Hello all,

I'm planning to make a roadtrip with my family soon, and hit up Alabama Hills as well as Buttermilk road in Bishop. But since those won't take all that much of a day, I'm wondering, are there any trails you guys recommend along 395 that are worth exploring down and are scenic? I don't want to do any crazy wheeling, since it'll just be all of us in a single rig, but down for something small.

Also, are there any side trails along Movie Road and Buttermilk road that are worth going down? I've only stuck to Movie Road, and took a few side trails along Buttermilks, but I went there for climbing primarily.
