Hello guys,

I've been trying to find a Transmission Mount for my 99 4runner limited 4wd 3.4L

It seems like all the catalogs are wrong because they are showing a different mount than the one i actually have.

Can somebody who has actually bought a Transmission mount and installed it tell me where to buy the correct one please.

Thanks,

cant help you on that on. I just installed a Hd tranny mount, but i know it is different because mine is a 5spd.

Pay attention when you order them, there are so may different models

I've been looking all over the internet to order one, but all the pictures look different from the one i have.

Any ideas please i am desperate!

Don't know if this will help or frusrate, but someone had mentioned in a posting that they had about 4 inches of shifter shake and replaced the trans mount. I searched a little bit but couldn't find it. Perhaps this will help jogg somenes memory.

Transmission Mount

Hey on the lithiatoyotaparts.com select you year make and model, then select ENGINE, then select MOUNTS, and then selct TRANS MOUNT. I am having a terrible vibration when in drive or reverse with the brakes engaged. Good luck

Gmata, you could also post a picture of "your" tranny mount, so that others here can help you find the correct one for your application.

PS: I know this was also back in Jan. so hopefully he found the correct one.

Transmission mounts

There are 3 different mounts for 1999. Two of them are for Rear wheel drive.

If yours is 4WD the P/N for BECK/ARNLEY Part # 1041805

12371-62120 That's the part number I find for the 4wd Toyota 4runner/Tacoma from 11/95 build date and newer.

As far as the aftermarket crap goes, its probably hit and miss but most of those website are too lazy to put actual product pics for every last part. They may have the right part, but not the right pic. Other possibility is the aftermarket companies didn't think it important enough to make separate parts for the 2wd and 4wd options, and just made one replacement.

I ordered that part last night, from LithiaToyotaParts.com they don't show a picture on their website so hopefully it is the right mount.

Thanks

It should be, but worse case you can always call them with your VIN and have them double check it. Unless of course your truck has had some conversion work done (motor/trans swap type stuff) then your VIN won't get you very far.

the beck/arnley one you show is for a manual trans. You have an auto and the mount is different. As seen by your picture.

Whatever happened with this, did you find the right mount? I am having the same exact problem and have the same mount as the one pictured on your 4Runner. All of the replacement ones I am finding aren't the same. What gives?

Nevermind, it seems that the part number previously stated by Stick Figure is correct as seen here:

INSULATOR, ENGINE MOUNTING, REAR NO.1. MOUNTING for TOYOTA 4Runner (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002) (1237162120)

For the record though, none of the after market parts seem to fit or match up and the morons at my local Toyota dealership also screwed it up. My 4Runner is a 1999 SR5 V6 4x4 Automatic. Hope this saves others some time and confusion. Thanks!

OK, this is getting very frustrating as the new mount I was sent is also incorrect. I thought previously that Toyota Part number 12371-62120 was the correct replacement but apparently it is slightly different. I have the same exact mount as previously posted in gmata's photo earlier in this thread. Again, 1999 SR5 4x4 V6 Auto. Any ideas?

Sorry for the delay in responding, i ordered mine from LithiaToyotaParts.com and it worked with that same part number. Are you sure it won't fit?

I woul call them and tell them your VIN number so they can find the exact part number you need.
