TRD 4.0 V6 SuperChager

The toyota guy called me back after talking to TRD...I missed the call but he left a voicemail. He told me that TRD said it won't be released until the Fall...and I specifically told him to check for my 4Runner V6 4.0 Liter Sport Edition. So in terms of fit kit, it looks like we have to wait till the fall. I bought extra years of warranty on my car (i have no idea why, but it was really really cheap) so i don't want to do anything to void it.

Mysticz, tomorrow was like 3 days ago... any word?

Sorry, plans changed. But we talked on phone yesterday about it, he said the TRD 4.7 V8 was released awhile ago but it was pulled awhile because it caused several blown engines.

He has one in his dealership now if you are interested, he said he can cut a good deal for anyone who wants to buy it.

The one he has is made for a 2001-2002 Sequoia TRD SC 4.7 V8, he said it works for the 4Runners engines but some mods have to be done also.

will the SC be compatible with a 2007 SR5?

V6 or V8?

V6, don't see why not. The 4.0 V6 is unchanged since its debut back in 2003 for the 4Runner. Only change was in 2005 when the 4Runner got the 5-speed transmission.

V8, VVT-i was introduced in 2005 for the 4Runner.

From 2005 going forward, there are no changes in the 4Runner's powertrain.

why bother for a SC if your 4R can get you from point A to point B?

so you can accidentally pass point B, realize you went to point C and come back to point B in the same time it would take you in a non s/c 4 runner from A to B.

:D:biggrin2:

You know what this is BS! Why do they make a SC for the V6 and not for the V8!!?? F*ckin Toyota!! Blown engines blah blah blah...:bash:

FJ gets all the good stuff - 6 speed manual and the SC! I'd just get claustrophobic in the back seat and rear vision is horrid.

Yeah, I'm going with a turbo.

$4500 + Kit + Install

I'm sorry, but as a 18 year old, I just don't have that much cash laying around (well, not since I bought the runner lol).

Actually, now that I think about it, if anyone is interested I might see if I can put together a quality turbo kit for the 4th gens.

Of course anyone on the boards would get it at cost. Anyway, that's a whole different thread.

As I was saying, I'm going with a turbo for half the price.

I've planned a turbo kit for quite some time....Have you checked out STS turbo? They offer univeral kits. I don't really care for their remote mount applications though. I've worked on a turbo kit on and off for a while though. I'm in Fort Myers too...
