Questions

Awesome thread. Truck looks incredible.

I am about to embark on the same modification. I have a 2015 Limited 4Runner magnetic gray and plan on making the switch to the TRDpro OR TRDtrail front end but also plan on installing a 3" lift (Ready-Lift).

Questions:
1. Am I correct in assuming that the switch does not require any underlying chassis/body modifications other than the different parts outlined in the PDF?

2. The PDFs you included don't show the fender liner as a necessary conversion. Is it in fact a requirement for switching the front bumper from limited to TRDtrail/TRDpro? If so, will the 3" lift affect my choice of fender liner?

3. I prefer the black valence over the silver/light grey valence under the grill. Which trim has black valence - TRDtrail or TRDpro?

Okay so I have done a boat load of research and I am about to pull the trigger on the complete front & rear bumper swap including the TRD parts.

I am down to the last two part numbers I think. Which inner fender do i need to order. My limited currently has the xres on it (for now) and I have tow choices with the inner fenders.

With or Without Dynamic Suspension. My assumption is they are talking about the KDSS suspension.

Sweet please post progress pics and pm me a link if you start a thread. You can also post them here if you want. I can't wait to see the 3" lift and I need to know what wheels & tires you plan to use.

Nope no chassis modifications

Yep, you need to order the fender liners. However, you can trim you fender liners and make them work.

If you get a silver one all you have to do is paint it black.

I am trying to remember what year it was and heck ya I miss it.

I saw this one the other day and I told myself I am sure I can convince my wife this would be a good car for our Daughters to Drive back and forth to school and for here to drive when the weather is bad.

Your old Toyota looks awesome. My uncle had an older 80's Toyota Pickup when I was a kid. Single cab lifted with big tires. I thought it was the baddest it truck ever.

Somewhere there are picture of my first truck which was an 84. Somehow it ended up on 44" Ground Hawg's as it spent a good portion of it's life doing Mud drags at Union Grove Drag strip in Wisconsin. We even towed it home with a tow strap when I blew up the camshaft.

I was going to ask the same exact question. I mean no disrespect, but why didn't you just buy a TRD Pro?

He wants all the amenities of Ltd. full time 4wd,cooled seats,JBL stereo,etc.
The TRD Pro is too overpriced for what they offer.

I wanted a trd pro also but really needed the 3rd row seat and ended up with a Limited. Only thing I love about the trd pro is the front end, color and wheels.

You are just like me. I just made a thread about this conversion idea and it seems like most folks don’t recommend it since that will cost you a fortune and wont give you any usefulness at all.

None taken.

The dealer was willing to deal on the limited and there were so many "Must Haves" that the TRD didn't offer. Most important to me is the Sun Roof, JBL Sound System, No key and the full time AWD. So in the end it was about the same price for me to buy the Limited and do the conversion.

plus I like to be different yet look the same as others. Only a few people have realized that it is not actually a Pro.

Price didn't really have anything to do with it as it was more about my "Want" list. The older you get the more you want some of the nice amenities.

btw I love your truck and will eventually purchase a roof top tent or at least an Awning for at the trail head.
