TRD PRO Info (please)

With regard to the negative equity, you are the only one that can decide what kind of hit you are willing / able to take. Your best bet is to just compare what others are paying to what you are paying for the 4Runner only. Not sure why you're so fixated on the price being MSRP with the negative equity. You're not paying MSRP !!!

True.

If they are selling the TRD pro at invoice, giving you a fair value to buy out your lease, and you have 20k to put as a down, then I say you should do it if it is the vehicle you want. Enjoy!

Invoice? Negative Rampart . . . Window sticker maybe?
Thats all in this thread, but the MSRP is $42,××× and they are offering it to me for $39,3××.

So far what they have offered me for my trade would leave me at $3900 negative equity on the lease. I want to bring them down about a grand if I can (get $1000 more for my trade)

not sure why you quoted me twice, other than to emphasize your seething hatred of me

im not going to own something that isn't true. i could care less that you bought the Pro. good for you, i like them - i wish i could have one, its cool. go about your business then. and i never said anything about the SR5, in fact for someone that for all intents and purposes the SR5 is less financially responsible than the Trail or the Pro because of the lack of a rear locker, aggressive ATRAC and other systems at their disposal.

if you can get a Pro for the same price as a trail then by all means go ahead and do it, i'll even high five you and won't say a word. but for the person, like I've said numerous times now - who intends to modify the Pro by replacing the suspension and tires, then all you did was pay more money for a different set of wheels. and if 5-800 bucks i worth that to you then go right ahead. but for the people that are going to go ahead buy a Pro for MSRP or over because its a limited edition and they HAVE TO HAVE IT and then go about modifying it - those people have more money than brains.

simply put, you are not gaining anything noticeable with the pro over a trail. if you don't care about that then be on your way and i'll be on mine.

Ha! I don't hate you dude... Not sure how you hit that from me simply arguing a point with you. Two oeole can argue without I'll feeling you know... It is a hung that people do all the time.

I will admit that you have unfairly become my poster child for all the guys here that decided to bum every TRD pro owner here in the only two thread about the truck with talks of it being a joke or a rip off. It wasn't just you so i do apologize for that. But it was still just an argument

If it makes you happy! Life is too short, you can be financialsecure all your life and never get to enjoy life. If it is something you and only you can quantify it comfortable with doing then go ahead. I would be looking at it in a few ways not just the dollars and cents. Look at what they are offering you for the vehicle OTD, what they offer for your trade, then figure out if it is worth it to end your lease early, ie will your mileage might be close already to the alloted amount, etc.

Most of all if it gives you a hummer to drive drive one or even the process of buying one go ahead if you can afford to if not then dont. It is simple.

I love how others put it into it makes more financial sense to do this and that. Well it makes even more finacial sense not to spend another 5-10k modifying your vehicle aft you buy it! When you could just get an old arse 4 wheeler and dog the crap out of it without affecting the value of your prius. Geeze some people.

Thank you for your input. I agree very much with your last paragraph

Thanks!

Make sure you discuss the price of the vehicle and your trade in separately. One of the oldest tricks in the book is for the salesman to shift the difference between the two around to seem like a better deal

Yeah I agree... However, they quoted me $39k for the TRD Pro via email before even getting to the dealership and discussing my trade

i think you want this truck enough to make up for the few dollars you might be giving up here....buy it, 4runners are amazingly good trucks...any version, and the TRD version looks great, it has a tiny bit of uniqueness to it so you'll feel just a tiny bit cooler driving down the road next to others...as silly as that is to other owners here. i love mine and i get a compliment on it from guys that have no clue about this or that 4runner every day.
