Getting it installed on 3/28 with Camburg Balljoint UCA's. Gonna cost like $750 to install it all with alignments. I was going to get tires with it, either Goodyear Mt/R, Duratracs, or Trail Grappler MT, 285/70/17 but he said they might rub. So thinking i should go with a 275/70/17. The mechanic was like, you cant use the trd wheels, told him I wanted to use the trd wheels,, and only get bigger tires, size ...285/70/17, he said they will rub.

Unrelated... I go over 6 steep speed bumps every day. The stock trd pro suspension handles them well, I try not to hit them at high speeds. I have the clunk, not bad, but heard it a few times. Wonder if it will disappear, not that i care.

My 285's don't rub and I didn't even have to remove the front mud flaps like I thought I would. Took it fast over a row of speed bumps last night and even my wife was said "wow, that was much smoother".

Hit some mud holes yesterday. It worked great. My suspension guy said he thought the stock UCA's were fine. We will see.

Yea, Toytec also said the stock UCA's were fine. I will probably get better camber/caster with the Camburgs.
Guess i need to order the 285/70/17 tires myself, hard deciding between the MT/r, Duratracs or the Trail Grappler MT. I'm liking the kevlar sidewalls on the MT/r's.

I wa also going to say. I don't know what it cost additionally for UCA installation but my suspension shop did the lift and alignment for $284.50. They also dropped the old tires off at the tire shop for me for the mount and balance of the new tires and then went and picked them up. Had it all done in under 4 hours.
$750 seems kinda steep.

I have noticed that when going fast over large enough speed bumps the front does get a tiny bit of air. Certainly no where near bottoming out on the downward swing though.

The lift pushes or holds the suspension down farther than stock thus shortening its amount of downward travel.

By the same token upward travel is increased from the stock position since the suspension is already standing on-its-toes so to speak.

That's not to say that there is more travel available due to the lift, only that the kit changes where the suspension sits at rest within the same, original amount of total travel.

Stock probably keeps the suspension closer to the middle of it's total travel distance where-as the kit keeps the suspension at rest closer to the lower travel limit.

It's always a compromise...

Yeah this what I have been thinking. I also am thinking an alternative to the toytec it a spacer block that sits on top of the shock mount. This seems to have been the method that I have had the best luck with.

Spoke to Camburg out in California, they said they would charge $600 to install the lift and the UAC's with alignments. So its not that far off.

The shop here, the alignment cost over $100, thought that was excessive. I didnt buy the parts from the installer, so he really isnt making a lot, he said the lift will take almost 3hrs, uac's like 2-3hrs and then the alignments and road tests. The shop also has a great reputation for doing it right the first time. I wanted the Toyota dealer to do the install but they never got back to me and im not going to chase them down.

Hope it all works out!

I really wanted to add this kit but after speaking with the service department at my dealership, I was told any angle change within the driveline (however tiny it may be) would void my 120k mile warranty. I had the same issues with Jeep when I lifted my JK. Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone considering adding the lift...speak with the dealership first. I was basically told that any part failure would be attributed to a change in the driveline angles without any further investigation.

I am running 285 Mt/r on stock trd wheel with the Toytec lift. No rub whatsoever. I have a little over 10k on the tires and they still look new. I originally went with the 275 out of fear the 285 wouldn't fit. There wasn't a lot of info on the Toytec lift on the pro back then. Switched to the 285 MT/r after less than 100 miles and never looked back. The 285 is a hugely better look with the lift. I have been very pleased with the MT/r.

Lift and Wheel Spacers Installed.

Here are some comparison shots I took. Same, stock tires in both pictures. I'm getting some rubbing when I back up while fully turning the wheel so I may have to get rid of the spacers. But I love it. I think it looks like it should always have looked.

Looks awesome. Stock tires look fine for now. I just cant justify trading out tires with 15K miles yet. I am worried about my spacers as well. I get a rub at full lock now and I have trimmed the heck out of the front of the wheel well and removed the front mud flaps. We'll see once it gets installed on the 4th.

Question: did you do the 2" toytec springs in the rear? I went with the 1.5 SAW's.

Do you go off-roading on trails or do light rock crawling?

I wasnt worried too much on the roads, but was worried about rubbing while off-roading in 4x4 trails.

The kit and UAC's are being installed this Monday.

My lift was delivered this week. Now to find a place to get it installed. Anyone have any recommendations for a place in the South SF Bay area? I was thinking about Swat Customs in Fremont. Has anyone dealt with them?

Mostly flat and wet trails in and around Osceola National Forest and north Florida/south Georgia. Nothing very strenuous. I haven't experienced any rubbing, but the trails aren't very demanding on the suspension.

I did do the 2 inch in the rear. Got rid of my spacers. Too much rubbing and it was on the front bumper. Now for new tires. The stock ones look ok but I definitely want bigger and quick. Haha.

Got the lift and the UAC's installed. After they removed the front shocks, the mechanic pointed out that the driver side shock was adjusted differently then the passenger side (toyota's/port setting). They said they would leave it like that and just install the lift. This was the alignment sheet they handed me. Was wondering if the numbers look right. Truck rides fine.

Can someone confirm that these are the stock rear TRD springs. - Thanks!
