Good point! My home garage has 6' 10" of clearance. The lift gate does hit when open. I did remove the metal foot-plate from the bottom of the garage door so it doesn't scratch the car and it's just the rubber weather strip that makes contact. Did the same on the other door to avoid the same on the mini-van.

My garage door isn't insulated so this may or may not work for those that have insulated garage doors.....

I look a piece of 1" (for 1" pipe) slit foam pipe insulation 24" long and placed it on the bottom metal brace just above the rubber weather strip on the door. When figured out exactly where I would benefit most on the location, I siliconed it so it would stay in place.
This has worked like a charm, no damage to the 4Runner rear hatch and the location of the garage door mod doesn't affect the door closure or bottom seal!!!

In case anyone was wondering like I was... I spoke with Toytec today and the kit is no longer on back order. They should be changing the site today to reflect that. I placed my order and swapped the rear springs for the sway-a-way 1.5", and ordered Cooper ST Maxx 255/80r17.

Yeah if you want to eliminate the front rake you'll want to go with 1.5" in the rear. It cost an extra 47 bucks to replace with sway-a-way.

I have the 1.5" Sway-away rears and ordered those for the same reason of trying to keep the level stance originally on the TRD but it sat at 2" of lift after install.

I have had them since January of this year. I don't carry any real weight back there and they are supposedly 12% stiffer. I have wheeled (flexing) in them twice in addition to putting about 150 lbs worth of sand bags for a couple of weeks to squat it down.

I think finally, they are squatting down but just about a 1/4".

I haven't taken any recent pictures. I will try tomorrow to see if there is a visible difference after 2-weeks shy of 6 months on the truck.

I have this lift installed and am leaving on my first fully loaded trip this weekend. Wife, two kids, cargo area completely loaded, Gobi rack completely loaded, etc. I was going to get airbags (airlift) installed today and the shop just called and said they will not work with the rear springs (superflex) on this kit. It was a air lift 1000 universal kit and both the shop and airlift confirmed they won't work. Concern is that the bump stops have to be fully cut flush and since the bump stops help hold the spring in place, the spring may dislodge if I get a bit too off camber while wheeling.

Does anyone have this TRD Pro Lift installed with air bags? If so, which ones?

Has anyone run this lift completely loaded without airbags and done some wheeling? Any issues with the weight?

I'm now a bit concerned on it's ride and handling when I'm fully loaded.

From what it sounds like the toytech kit is the way to go. Has anyone had any issues with the stealership threatening to void their B2B/powertrain warranty because of the lift? For those that have had the lift for a while now, anything to note as far as issues or things to think about for people looking to pick up the kit? Did the sway-a-way coils finally settle and level out the truck as people were hoping (someone mentioned the coils never really dropped and the truck still had rake)?

Had mine now for a while, no issues with service at all. To be honest I don't think they even know what the trd suspension includes. When I had mine installed originally I had a bad UCA, they replaced the UCA under warranty without any issues or questions about the added lift.

I had my driver side front diff. inner seal replaced under warranty just a few weeks ago. Nothing was brought up about the lift. They didn't question it or anything.

I am curious to see what they say if I go in with the TSB for the TRD-Pro Clunk. They have my complaint documented for me at the first 5K interval (before the lift) but since it happened above 55 degrees F the service tech didn't hear it or feel it. This time they may say they can't replace the shock for the front coil-over since it has already been worked on by another shop to put the lift in. I will ask when I bring it in for the 25K service interval.

The dealership installed my Toytec kit. Try calling a different dealership or speak with a manager.

I recently talked with a service rep that told me I didn't have a fuel filter on my sequoia. Then I showed it to him. Point being... just because they work there doesn't necessarily mean they know what they are doing or talking about.
