I prefer the wider/fatter stance look but these don't rub, have good height, and mud isnt flying everywhere all over the truck.
Just when I thought I had the tires I wanted picked out. Damn! Looks great!

Ran the STT Pros on my JK. Almost got them again last week for the 4Runner but went with the ST Maxx. The Pro's a great tire off road. They're ok on pave too. Mild humming, nothing crazy for how aggresive they are. Read great things about the Ridge Grappler and almost went with those too. In reality I'm 90% daily driver so I compromised with the ST Maxx.
I think the Ridge Grappers would be a great compromise between the Maxx and Pro's depending how much off roading you do.

Thanks. I was hesitant at first. Changed my mind 58 times in a week.lol
Love the look of 285's but I also like being different.
Zero rub. Zero trimming. Not getting caught up in all the 285 rutts off road and there's not mud flying all over the sides of the truck everytime I leave the yard. Great height. Also the recommended wheel width for 285's is 7.5" minimun. Our stock wheels are 7" which is perfect for the 255s. Yes you can run 285s on a 7" wheel but I feel more comfortable airing down with the proper size. To each their own.

Yeah i prefer the wider stance as well...so now im debating whether to get pizza cutters and keep the stock wheels or go aftermarket with 285s

I think it's all going to depend on what you want out of it? Not just in terms of looks, but also functionality as well as extra modifications that may be required. I was in between everything from 275-295/70/17, quickly dropped 295 from my options, and finally settled with the Cooper STT Pro in 285/70/70. Did a lot of research here and online. Personally I'm a fan of the wider and more aggressive stance. Looked at KO2, G2, STT Maxx, Ridge Grappler, and so on. I was pretty set on the Ridge Grapplers until I saw them in person, and felt they did not look as aggressive as I wanted. I saw the STT Pros and fell in love, however knew there was going to be some extra work to make them fit. Another thing that, in a weird way got me, was the actual tire measurements. The STT Pro in a 285/70/17 was the only one in my desired options that measured out to 33" in diameter, or a tad over to be exact. Everything else read a little smaller. Now, with all that being said, as much as I love the aggressive look and capability of my rig, I did have to do some cutting, and some extra $ to make it work(Fender Mods/ SPC UCA's). I also sacrificed the mileage and comfort of an AT tire. Not that by any means the STT Pro is God awful, but a nice AT would certainly feel better for those occasional long highway trips I take. In the end though, I know you'll be much happier with a 285, over 275, in terms of looks and functionality, but make it work for you.

Brand new prototype revteck lift for pro
1.5 inch spacer in front and a small spacer in the back to keep the factory rake. which is not much.
We still get full extension and flex on all shocks and coils. "What we paid for"
Tire size suggested could possibly be a a 275/65/r18 -12 with no trimming and removing the front mudflap. Bassically something smaller then a 33" tires would be perfect so you can play with the numbers a little and your back spacing but to get all of your flex/body roll I wouldn't go bigger. Personal choice
I haven't been able to get tires on it yet this right after the lift but this Very very soon to be fixed. I'm thinking of either a toyo mt 275/65/r18 or a nitto ridge grappler 275/70/r18 -> the ridge grappler is a weaker tread tire so I should be able to get one size up but I'm probable getting the

New lift with Stock size Nittos
Installed the toytec 2" lift with HD 2.0 rear springs to support the SSO rear bumper. Loving the HD springs, it makes her drive like before I got the SSO bumper.
I decided to stick with stock size tires due to the 7" TRD Pro wheels, next tire change will include a 8" wheel and 285's.
I think the stock size looks pretty good.
The toytec lift is a no brainer for the TRD Pro. Makes the ride much better IMHO, especially if your carrying around a bunch of weight in the back all the time.

JW, was there a bump stop extensions added w/ this kit? Because you will prob blow your rear shock if not...
