Trd pro lift question

Did this a couple months back. This was taken the following day. I do believe it has settled a little bit since. I did ¾" toytec spacer up front and OME 998's for the rear. Definitely a stiffer ride but does not sag or come down hard on the trail with a full load and a full tank now. Tires are next to fill it out.

Do you still have the stock TRD Pro suspension? You should be planning on 35's to fill that gaping hole! I would be concerned with how high the ride height is in the rear if you're still using stock shocks. Have you taken any measurements for uptravel/downtravel of the rear suspension after the new springs?

Same shocks. All around. I'm not too concerned with the increase in the rear, I also was not planning on having it be so tall with the new springs originally either. All trial and error for me with the truck. No measurements either with the new set up

Speedometer

I just picked my TRD-Pro up from the shop. I had the 2" lift kit from Toytech installed. I also ditched the Nitto Grapplers for BFG KO2"s 285-70-17. Here we go. I love it, perfect height, i now have to give my GF a boost to get in. This lift has provided a different viewing experience before we go somewhere. The front end diving when breaking has really improved after this kit. Truck doesnt dive as much. The ride quality has improved believe it or not. Also no tire rubbing at all. I love my 4runner even more. Love the height and look. Also Toytech is an excellent company to do business with!! Ill try to post pics soon.

Has anyone with bigger tires re-calibrated their speedo? how much off is it with 285's or 275's? Your speedo will read slower I believe.

Lifted my 2016 TRD Pro today

New member here. Just had my ToyTech 2" lift installed today. Went on perfectly. No Spacers needed. Went with Nitto Terra Grappler G2's 275 70 R17. No rubbing at all! Also had the diff lowering kit installed at the recommendation of ToyTech staff. The shop is recommending that I get a new upgraded upper control arm to help get the alignment and camber perfect. Also should help make ride better. Only driven it about 10 miles so far but ride is fine...definitely can feel a bit stiffer in the rear but its fine. sits niceand high now and the tires went right on the stock TRD PRO wheels...very happy...

With 285's my speedo is gps accurate at 80 mph, others have reported the same. No way to recalibrate so it's just a nice surprise.

Did you mean OME 899's or 898's ? How is the nose dive with that setup?

Review of the install, if you have the money pay someone else to do it, hahaha! It wasn't extremely difficult, but there were times when I wasn't sure we were going to figure out issues mainly due to the proper spring compressor. The rig came out like others have said, "like it should have come from the factory!" It took us about 5 hours but that was with many breaks for mental stability. :mad2: Do the front first, the back is pretty painless. If you own a TRDP and want more from the look and feel, this is the lift for you to not have to replace the majority of your suspension. Here are some pics of the finished product, sorry my phone sucks but it's all I have....I did also add the Spidertrax adapters and they require no fender well trimming with this lift. The truck drives almost the same as before but I don't want to give that feedback until I have driven it a bit more.

What did you do to black out the front toyota letters?

I used Plasti-dip, you can find it in any local hardware store in the painting section. I did the Toyota in the front and the 4Runner on the back gate with the symbol as well. Here is a thread (there are many) where they show some before and afters. It basically covers it but it can be pealed of rather easily, leaving the plastic looking brand new.

So I purchased the 1" leveling kit from Toytec but I am hesitant to install them. I had recently installed them on a Tacoma Baja (same suspension and part#) and after the alignment, the truck has visible positive camber. According to the spec sheet it was within its boundaries. Has anyone run into this problem on the 4runner?

Long time lurker of the forums who just pulled the trigger on a Cement Grey TRD Pro over the weekend

Had a question regarding the ToyTec FJ4RPRO kit, so I'm going to run the stock rear bumper and a front C4 Fab Lo Pro winch bumper.

With the added front weight of the winch and the Lo Pro bumper which springs you guys think I should get for the rear?

2" or 1 1/2" Sway Aways?

You will get about the same amount of lift with either spring choice....maybe a tad less with the Sway Aways, but not much.

If you are adding a front bumper along with the Toytec lift, you will have a 2+ inch rake either way.

If I go with the Toytec TRD Pro 1 inch leveling kit for the front, can I run a larger tire than stock or does that kit mostly just reduce rake?

Anyone swamp coils out on factory Pro front suspenion?

TRD Pro stock coils are 3" ID, 13" length. Should be 550# springs IIRC.

King offers a 3" ID x14" 700# springs should work?

Currently have the Toytec Pro lift (front is just spacers). Looking at adding a an ARB bumper/winch soon. Not crazy about spacers but don't wanna shell out $ for new coilovers (what I have now won't handle addition bumper/winch weight)

Swapping coils would be a great option if it worked.

If you're going to add the weight, you have to include the cost for either new coil or coilover. I would recommend an adjustable set up as I assume most would.

Ya that's definitely better. Just looking at options. Here in Canada King coilovers are $2000. King coils $200. Coils carry the weight. No different than getting OME 885/886/887 coils for added weight but of course coilovers are the high end option. Just wondering if anyone has switched to a higher rated coil from the the stock Pro.

Were you still able to get alignment within factory specs with Burtman's 2/2 or 2/1.5 kit on a TRD Pro? I wasn't sure if that amount of extra front lift while keeping the factory UCAs would create any alignment issues?
BTW, I will have to dig up the numbers but if I remember right they had to accept slighterly positive camber in order to keep the castor in spec. However, it does drive and handle well.

This is exactly where I am now. They said it was overall fine, and it drives as it should, but sometimes it is indeed visible. Might eventually get some aftermarket UCAs, but we'll see. A winch bumper would also make a good bandaid :P .

TRDP Toytec Lift with new 285's

Waited on the crappy factory Nittos to wear out.
