Trd pro lift question

Finally decided to go with the toytech TRD PRO lift kit. Question for all that have purchased. Not sure to go with 2" coils that come with kit or have them changed out to the 1.5 SAW. Toytech told me the 1.5 will give me a softer ride but others on the forum mentioned a stiffer ride with the 1.5 SAW. My goal is to go with the ones that sit the rear end lower, but not looking for a stiffer ride. Any suggestions on whch way to go out of the two would be appreaciated. Thank you in advance.

I used to have the exact set up you are thinking about and I can tell you that (unloaded) the SAW 1.5 rear coils will yield closer to a 2 inch gain in the rear unless you have added a bunch of weight with roof goodies or an AM rear bumper. They were a nice ride, but they were not even close to the advertised 1.5 in reality for MY setup.

I didn't notice much of a different ride with the springs in the kit. Looks and rides great...

Thank you for the input. You mentioned used to have this set up, may I ask what your current set up is and why the change.

Nitto Ridge Grappler 285/70/17 (love them). I did the 2" rear

Really love the look of the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. After reading a few reviews on them I'll be purchasing them next week in 285/70/17. Comments on who has best price would be grateful. After a few more days of going through the forum I think I'm going with the Toytec TRD Pro front spaciers and using the Wheelers T13 rear springs. From what I've read the T13 sit around .5 lower than the Toytech coil and SAW coil. I'm trying to keep that level stance of the TRD Pro and usually drive around with no additional weight. Anyone running this combo and if so would love to see pics and hear your review on it. Thanks in advance.

I am currently running Icon ET front coilovers, SPC UCA, rear 2 inch Icon coils and 2.0 rear shocks. I hated the 2+ inch forward rake (even with the 1.5 rear SAW coils) with the Toytec set up. The Icon set up gave me the ability to dial up the front ride height to achieve a hair under a 1 inch forward rake.

Sounds like a great set up. Might be a little more than I want to spend right now. The 2 plus rake on the toytech kit is also alittle to high for my liking also. Will be using there front TRD spacers with the Wheeler T13 rear coils. They are supposed to be lower than the 2.0 and 1.5 SAW. But the proof will be in the pudding after the install. I'll post some pics when it's done.

Hi,

Does anyone have the free height and spring rate of the RCC2.0 coils? It would also help if you also provide the wire diameter and the number of wraps.

Thanks!

I have the Toytec spacer lift and run the spidertrax spacers with no rubbing. The rake does stay with this lift and really can be only altered by changing the front coil-overs with the true Bilsteins adjustable's, not like the ones on the TRDP that come stock that are not actually adjustable. There is some difference in the ride, but it's minimal and easy to adjust to. The stock tire on mine is 275, and I will replace them with 285's when the time comes. There is some needed trimming with a heat gum and a razor knife from my research, but not enough to discourage me.

Just to confirm, TRDP + 2" spacer lift + BFG 275 KO2 + Spidertrax = No rubbing?

I had the same exact setup at one point, and the 275's only rubbed on the mud flaps.....If you did not have the Spidertrax wheel spacers, you would not rub.... but if you do, you very likely will.

Hey guys, tried doing a search on this but not having any luck so was hoping someone here could help me out.

I'm wanting a slight front and rear lift to balance the factory rake and improve clearance on my pro without going the spacer route. Has anyone changed out just the springs in the front and/or back? Been looking at Wheelers coils, OME coils and the Dobinson's coils, anyone have any experience or input on this?

Rears:
My understanding is that the pro has a 1" front lift and 0" rear, hence the rake. To balance the rake, I would have to either lift only the front by 1-1.5" and leave the rears alone or lift the front 2" and lift the rear 1".
Wheelers T13 rear coils give approximately 1.5" which is what I'm looking for to improve clearance but I understand it's stretching the rear shocks. I will be doing some mild to moderate offroading/overlanding which is why I'd like the extra clearance. No bumpers (yet) and maybe 200 lbs of gear weight is all I'd really have at this point. I understand once the bumper game starts, I would be required to change up this suspension.

Front:
The Dobinson's provide 25mm or 1 inch extra over the stock 1" lift (2" total) up front which would balance the front and back if I leave the rears alone. This is the route I was originally going with but I was thinking about the OME springs which provide 1-2" up front (2-3" for non-pros?) or the wheeler's T1 which provide 1.5" up front (2.5" for non-pros?) coils to go with the T-13 rears. Thoughts? Spring rates are same so ride quality should not be affected, I understand this will slightly stretch the shocks but is it safe to do without affecting mechanical integrity?

OME doesn't have coils to fit on the TRD Pro front struts.

Our (Dobinsons) coils are to lift 1" over stock TRD Pro height. They aren't 1" longer than the stock coils, more like 1/2" longer to provide 1" of lift.

wheelers T1/T13 pair with 5100 is pretty even, ride is good man... gonna put SPC UCA and 275 KO2s on by next month, will post pics when done
