TRD PRO Needs A Supercharger...

You guys bring it upon yourselves

please explain.. how does the avg TRDp owner differ from the avg any-other-model owner?

and citing some douchbag comments or posts by some TRDpro owners does not constitute the batch of us... because if thats the answer, I can cite as many if not more douchy owners and comments from any other 4runner model.

for every TRDpro cruising a mall, per capita, theres the same amount of other 4runner models doing the same, so...
in general, if i were to judge just from the threads and comments here as everyone seems to be doing with the TRDpro owners, id say my wife's Outback has seen more trails than the majority of 4runner on here period!...but i dot assume the threads and comments here tell anyones whole story so i don't go bashing anyone for it, plus i don't care one way or the other
as far as I'm concerned, mall crawler or dirt, enjoy it.

Hey I thought us Limited owners had the lock on the mall cruising, you starting a turf war at the local nordstroms?

Thought the main reason for a Supercharger was for that extra boost when trying to beat a soccer mom in a minivan to that front row parking spot

and? not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but anyway... i see guys here spending thousands of dollars on wheels and tires with cool little red letter on the outside, just for looks.
Or spending an insane amount of money on suspension upgrades so that they can go take pictures on trails where the OEM stuff was perfectly suited for. Shit, i saw a guy here spend enough on his truck to buy a lexus GX instead and he hung the Hi lift Jack under the front valance!! i mean, that thing won't even make it up standard driveways like that.
but they like the way it looks with big wheels, all jacked up, lights and racks all over it right? looks cool... i agree! do what makes you happy man.

but those guys?! they get nothing but thumbs up and attaboys for all that, but god forbid i spend 1500 more on a TRDpro, I'm the poser mall crawler, lets bash that.

i bought mine to have a less extreme more family friendly off road truck that can pack the whole family in it and do shorter version trips from myy all out 20-day-overland Discovery rig thats parked right next to it...and so far its serving that purpose perfectly. But if you want to buy one to look cool at starbucks, knock yourself out! whatever tickles you about owning these trucks its all good with me.

WTF! I am just answering the guys question! Hey drsus, is that what you think?!

Wow, the stuff people say that's not true at all. . . . . .

I thought I had heard everything until this post.

What, yours came with a supercharged V8?... Yeah, I didn't think so. You know that all the stuff on that vehicle are add-ons and suspension bolt-on parts. In my opinion, I think Toyota messed up. They should've added a supercharged V8. I would've had one in my garage already.

Did I say it did? Do I care that it doesn't have a S/C V8? Did I say that the TRDP was the best 4Runner?

That's your opinion. Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you must share it. To me, the suspension is not cosmetic at all. Are the remote reservoir shocks or Eibach tuned springs just cosmetic? Didn't think so. Sure, some things on the TRDP are cosmetic. So what if I got it just for the looks?

Getting kinda fed up with all the TRDP bashing on this forum from people saying that it's crap, not worth the money, telling people they are stupid because they paid MSRP or over, the only reason people buy the TRDP is to "look cool and go to the mall", telling me that it's "all cosmetic changes", it doesn't have KDSS so therefore it's junk, etc. etc. It even got to the point where someone was comparing the TRDP to the 2014 Raptor, that they could get a new one right now for less than MSRP, (even though they are nearly sold out new and I know that no dealer in my area is selling them for less than MSRP because my colleague just bought one) and that they could even get a 2016 for invoice when pricing hasn't even been announced yet!

When are people on this forum just going to be uplifting instead of demeaning even if it means keeping their mouth shut about their own negative opinion on someone else's rig?

Also, when people write on this forum, it's extremely hard to tell if someone is sarcastic.

You keep your 4Runner as well as your negative opinions, and I'll keep mine.

By the way, I got the TRDP for my wife because she liked the looks, it rode the best to her, after driving every single model of 4Runner, so I said "ok". Everything else is irrelevant. Happy wife=happy life 'Nuff said

I'm not bashing the TRD Pro. I love everything they did to it, but I just wish it had the supercharged V8. Peace out, I'm done with this thread.

Cool, but how you came across was negative and bashing the TRDP by saying it was "all cosmetic changes". A better thing to say would have been what you just said in the last post, plus "mostly cosmetic changes were done" which would have come across in a more uplifting context.

Let's be crystal clear here, most don't bash the Pro truck itself but there is a sub set of their owners who have separated themselves from the collective as if the Pro was something that it's not.

It's not fair that all Pro owners are now getting painted with the same broad brush, but the fault rest firmly on those thinking themselves somehow different and better from the other trim levels.

Now that they have separated themselves, its pretty funny that the same are complaining of not being accepted. And by funny I don't mean haha.

Don't piss in your pants and then complain that it's wet.

First, let me say that if I have come across that I'm different and better than other trims, it was never my intention. All 4Runners are awesome, and there has never been a bad one.

My point of view is this: we should be happy for people when they have something go their way, and be ready to give a helping hand when it doesn't. If we don't have something nice to say, it doesn't HAVE to be said.

I think it all comes down to the name they chose. I wish it wasn't called the TRD Pro. lol I have one mainly because I didn't want to be out of pocket right away for wheels/tires and a skid plate. I'm moving soon and need as much cash in hand as possible. I pass by a really nice 5gen TE on the way to work every morning that looks a lot like a TRDP but has a decent lift and bigger tires. It made me want a trdp because that's the closest I could get to that truck right off the lot around here.

I think anybody that has spent any time at all on this forum knows there are a metric sh*t ton of sr5's, TE's, LE's on here that destroy the TRDP in capability and general baddassery. It's just another trim level in the end. But it seemed like a good starting point for me since I'm not gonna have time and cash to put into mods for a year or two.

But on the other hand it's also kind of dumb to think that a guy in a trdp stares blank faced at the modded T4R next to him at the light like it was a magic unicorn; in shock that there might be something nicer out there than a trdp...lol. We all like 4runners. I like almost all of them. And, I think/hope that most of us who bought a trdp know that if there was a supercharger out there in the works it would not just be for us considering it's the exact same platform. A TE with a few bolt on upgrades for a few more dollars up front.

Long live the body on frame 4runner.

:flamewar:

Uhhh.....So when is the supercharger going to be release for the TRD PRO 4Runner again?

:nicethread:

Man, I've only been on this forum for a under a month or so and the impression I got was there are a lot of bashers on here instead of helping hands! I thought this was a toyota family? Everyone so quick to jump to the ban hammer or "why don't you do a search?"....How about I don't feel like flipping thru 100 pages to get my 1 answer. If that's the case, all TRD PRO related post should go into that one thread TRD PRO with 250 or so pages....:keyboard:
