TRD Supercharger

I can't tell from the pictures, but does the prototype carry a low enough profile to hit under the hood of a SR5/LE? Looks like to TE hood may be needed.

frankly if there isn't a trd option I won't want it anyway - URD is great and all, but it's not going to be covered under my 100k mile warranty.

Everyone is entitled to their reasons and opinions but I can tell you for a fact that URD (Gadget), is the reason that so many Toyota S/C'ers have lasted as long or longer then they were designed too. He took Toyota's product, figured out all the problems that people were having and then developed tools to fix them.

All I'm saying is that you shouldn't discount URD as he is putting more thought into the reliability/design then TRD would have or has ever thought about. I've known Gadget (URD) since 1998 and his reputation has never faltered.

That's fine, and I understand the statement - I daily drive an 800hp car that is designed with nothing but reliability in mind, so I get that - but this is my wife's car and unless she can take it to the toyota dealer and not have any problems it's not gonna go on the 4runner...

Until URD has a relationship with toyota such that their product won't violate warranties it really doesn't matter. Now with that said, once or if the vehicle is out of warranty, game on... I'm perfectly capable of rebuilding the vehicle from the ground up if necessary, and i'd be much more prone to pick something non factory approved.

I don't know how relevant it is but we've got a 1995 Toyota Previa that's super charged and we are now near 300 k mi on the original engine/transmission. Never needed any significant repairs to either .... Sounds to me like Toyota knows how to design reliability into a supercharger.

Wait... Did you just say you had a supercharged Previa?? Why in the world would you have a supercharged Previa??

Why in the world would you not have a supercharged Previa!!!! :)

If I could I would supercharge a shopping cart for when I go to the grocery store :)
