TRDTeen '98 SR5 Build Thread

She's currently sitting at my work parking lot over night. Clutch went bad and cant get her into gear. Will keep you all updated. :yield:
 
OEM clutch: AISIN Part # CKT040

Go to RockAuto.com, input your year/make/model, go to Transmission - Manual, then Clutch Kit. They sell it for about $250.

Replace the master, too, you'll need to anyway after what you described on the phone
 
Sorry Matt, I would have answered my phone if I was awake... I'm working a stupid amount of hours this week.

You might want to try bleeding it before you go buying parts. Not going into gear is a hydraulic problem, not necessarily a clutch problem.

Exactly what I did. Didnt change one part, just bled the line. It's now up and running (for the time being). Still going to replace the clutch master later tonight just to be safe. And while I'm at it, ill go ahead and change the slave master too. I was so happy when she popped into gear! :reddance::lookout:
 
It seems all manual owners have to deal with clutch master failure at at least one point in time. There is a seal that can go bad in the MC that will slowly leak air into the system. I drove mine home without a clutch instead of trying to bleed it though, pedal to the floor the whole way. Had to use the clutch start cancel in first to get going at stop lights, 4 LO helped on a couple hills.

I'm pretty sure I'm on my 4th clutch master cylinder and 2nd slave cylinder. I've replaced absolutely every single part that has to deal with the clutch. I know that system like the back of my hand. My clutch feels better then my Dad's Porsche right now. You have any trouble, shoot me a text.
 
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I keep finding things that need to be replaced. This past weekend I changed my starter motor. Ordering a new clutch in the next week, as well as my rear lift. In other news...

I woke up this morning and headed down to AutoZone to get a few things. Picked up some ES Polyurethane swaybar endlink bushings. They didnt have the swaybar brackets in stock. Left AutoZone, and to my surprise, this happened:

There is very minor rubbing on the front tires when completely turning the steering wheel. Going to take off the front bumper valence for the time being until I get my lift on. While its off, I'll paint it and make it look all purty.
 
Take the fender flares off and plasti-dip all the other chrome. And then buff the crap out of the paint and vinyl wrap the roof. Boom

Saw this on Instagram and had to come see for myself. I'm surprised they don't rub more than just on the frame with the valance gone. And pinch weld rubbing? Looks awesome!
 
Finally got around to installing my headunit. Nothing great, but damn do i hear an increase in music quality with the new Kenwood! Doing the amp+sub tomorrow.
