TreadWright coupon

I don't get it ... The pictures you posted show BFG T/A labels but they are Treadwrights .

How is that legal? They aren't BFGs , at least in my opinion.

They are BFG T/A carcass's with new rubber on them. Treadwrights are re-treaded tires.

Yes, my posts are referring to Guard Dogs.

Treadwright uses other tires to retread, usually BFG or TOYO tires, some tread patterns are copys of BFGs i.e. guard dog and warden.

They have been in business for a while so im sure all legal issues have already been over seen, you may be forgetting that this is not a new thing, people have been retreading tires for 18 wheelers for years before treadwright.

No opinion is needed, they are not BFGs. Just look like them

And to Zoo, I am not completely sure about the B2B molds as they just skim the side wall, sure it may look better but I dont like the idea of shaving what isnt much in the first place.

Yes they Really do look like BFGs when they aren't. It doesn't seem right that they can use BFGs brand like that. That's just my opinion.

Got all 5!

Well ordered 5 guard dog load range E tire 4 days ago. They got here today. and they will be put on tomorrow

All carcasses are yokohama geolander.

Three of the 5 where patched already, called them they said it was normal, ehh.

1 of the 5 was a load range D warden tread, not a guard dog. called them and they are sending a matching one asap.

So far my experance has been Ehh, nothing more nothing less. who knows I could get them on and love them.

That sucks, all companys make shipping issues. Im on my second set, my wife has a set and two of my buddys are on there 2nd or 3rd sets. Always had perfect service.

I have the new fully wrapped treadwrights that say there name on the side. I love them, they are heavy, do ride rough, but they wear so great. Never had a mud tire last this long.

They do suck in solid ice or snow pack. As does every mud tire I have ever used. There is not enough tire touching the ground, if its soft snow or mud they work great. I will never run another tire again.

I just received 5 (for the price of 4) 265/75 with Kedge grip ( BFG-AT D carcass ) using the coupon code. I ordered on 9/11 and received on 9/14. So far I like them including the "hum" which isn't too loud compared to some other tires.

**edit** all 5 balanced well.

Update:
Waiting on a reply from TreadWright, but at this time, I cannot recommend these tires. I have 7 of these Wardens right now, and I can say with certainty that at least 3 of them are not round. I will post another update after I hear their response, but one thing to consider is that their warranty policy (stated in their warranty disclosure) is that there are no cash refunds after the tires have been mounted. Can you identify a defective tire by just looking at it?

I purchased a set of the AT's about a year and a half ago, just ordered Duratrac's to replace them.

I don't like how they perform in the rain. I had two that were out of round, provided the paperwork from the Toyota Dealership who did the mount and balance and they sent me two without any issues. From a customer service perspective, I never had any issues.

I just don't care for how the tire performs in certain conditions. Since my wife drives the 4R with my kids at times and she doesn't do well when the truck slides, I'm replacing the tires.

It's a shame, I have about 15k miles on them, still a ton of life left in them.

i had a set of 315/75/16 treadrights they sucked, they have a purpose and offroad isnt it.

(its a old used tire with tread on it) you can see its age in the sidewall,

Man love all my treadwrights, always was told they balanced good. I have seen the age in the tire wall before but never had a failure running them at 10psi offroad. My bead to beads are awesome, no sidewall age since they are covered up.

Guess the 2 sets on mine and the one set on wifes where all lucky.

Yeah I'm not to happy with mine, the customer service is great but the tires just aren't balancing, I've had it done 3 times now both static and dynamically and still getting shaky steering wheel 45mph+. Last resort is Toyota dealer before they are thrown on our jeep...

no sidewall age since they are covered up.

Tires start to slowly deteriorate from the moment they come out of the mold. By about 5 years of age, it's advisable to start closely inspecting the tires for any signs of significant deterioration. Not all deterioration is visible however, sometimes the rubber just progressively hardens, and then the carcass is likely to fail at the least opportune time.

That's why tires should be discarded regardless of how they look, when they become too old.

Treadwright applies a new tread cap, or a tread cap with additional rubber to cover the sidewalls, to an old deteriorated carcass. Those deteriorated carcasses often have puncture repairs too, further weakening an already old carcass.

Retreads on passenger cars and light trucks, is false economy IMO. I'd rather buy the cheapest new DOT legal tires I can find, than run an unknown age/history retread.

I've heard the arguments that Commercial Trucks run retreads.

The difference is that Commercial Truck tires, (unlike passenger car and light truck tires) are designed from the outset to be retreaded. Over-the-road trucks also accumulate lots of miles quickly, and when the tire is retreaded, the carcass still isn't very old.
