So far I'm really enjoying my new TB51 from the recent group buy but I was a little irked that the cooler ships with a 90-degree bend in the DC connector. This interferes with the AC connector, basically negating one of the key features of the cooler...it defaults to AC if there's a power input.
I wanted to have the DC cable plugged into my truck supply while still having the AC cord available for times I'm sitting in camp. I don't normally stay in big campgrounds and rarely in sites with power but it does happen. I more wanted this for times I'll be at home for a few days without running the truck but I don't want to disconnect and let it warm up.
I hunted around and found several sources of a straight DC cord but most were way over $40 plus shipping from Australia (not much of a help). I finally tracked one down that's advertised for a MobiCool unit but works just fine.

Here's the link to the cord I purchased. If you shoot them a message they'll work with you a bit on the shipping. It's about 6' long and has an 8A fuse built into the connector.
When running on house power I do plan to run the extension cord in through a cracked back hatch but I plan to wrap it around the steering wheel or shifter. That way I don't pull a boneheaded act and drive off with the cord plugged in. Ever see a car dragging a gas nozzle down the road???
The slide is in the mail and I'm about to order some 6/2 cable to run from the battery to the cargo area for the fridge and a few LED lights. The "Big 3" upgrade will wait until I'm ready for a battery replacement but that's coming soon.
