OK...Maybe this is old hat to everyone, but I found a site that would let you get all the current 2005 model TSB reports as well as any that come up for the next year for $11.99. Go to the following link:

https://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/mak,TOYOTA

Click on "2005", "4Runner Sport", <select your engine type>, "Literature", and finally "Service Bulletin"

mmm... interesting - had not looked at these for a while - the TSBs on the 2005s indicate that they are introducing a new Transmission fluid - anybody know any more on this?

Looks like www.alldata.com charges you $24.95 for the first vehicle, and $14.95 for each additional vehicle...
Wow, now that sucks. They've been taken over by autozone. You can view that there is a TSB, but not read the description. Last time I used it, it was totally free. How lame.

The NHTSA site also does not have all the TSBs - the alldata site has several that are not listed on the NHTSA site in fact. You do get a bit of info for free on what is in the TSB from NHTSA - the alldata site is much more close lipped.

I'll grant you that not everything is free.

If you are having a problem, look it up there and see if there is a fix. If you have that symptom, take it in.

Many people look at the TSB's and the symptoms they cause and then start looking for that symptom in their car, even if they were not aware of any problem before.
They keep looking until they find it or worry that it might occur later.

If there is a problem and a recall, Toyota will let you know.

If you have a problem by all means take it in but stop agonizing over possible concerns.

If there is a real issue to look at you know it will appear here on this board!

That said, I did have an account at Alldata when I had my Suburban as GM was not as open about fixing things that were problems as Toyota is. If I hadn't known to look for coolant under the engine I would not have caught the leak when my intake manifold did its thing. It was a known problem.
