That's a good point Tyler, I haven't thought about that. Then again, if you're a glutton for punishment, you can turn most any threaded shaft projector installation into a nut and bolt installation to place it where you want it. That's what I had to do in my minivan installation. I can see how the deeper installation would look less bug-eyed than the threaded shaft one.

Yeah, definitely can still nut and bolt the threaded shaft units. Worth it? Meh, I don't know. I just figure the more you can recess them, the better. If you're only getting 1/4" more setback, it's probably not worth it.

Just a pic dump 'cause I felt like takin pics.

The passenger grille filler panel retainer has been broken since I've had the rig. The tape let loose again, and I decided to actually order the part to fix it right. *
Still super happy with the grille and headlights. Still like the 4.0's better, but I REALLY like the blue glass on these G5's. Maybe I'll wait for the D2S 5.0, and maybe I can swap the glass for blue [emoji847] We'll see. I still need to paint and retrofit the corners, and I'll repainted the filler panels while I'm sprayin.
Shopping for new rear shocks. The 5100's were much better than the stock Tokico 5th gen rears I have on there now, but they were a hair soft for me. For some reason I don't like ICON. Not sure why. Not sure if I'm up for KING rears quite yet... [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION] got the homie hookup? [emoji23]
Also want new front coils. The 881's I put on the homie's rig ride 100x better than my 99's do! Seems like the 882 with the same spring rate and a taller free-standing height would be the ticket, but info is hard to find, and some say they ride really stiff! Really doesn't make sense for a 500lb rate coil. Unless they were really pre-loaded.
Just thinking out loud.

The headlights look awesome... Scratch that the whole rig does man. Super clean. The blue glass in the shrouds looks very nice. Didn't think much of colored glass for the projector but I really like it. Nice work man!

Well- like I just said in my last post- they were a little soft for my liking. Mostly great, but a little soft. I could bomb speed bumps of any size at any speed, and it ate it up buttery-smooth. I still think there is a shock out there that is gonna eat up speed bumps, and still be a little tighter valved when I want it to be.

It's not that I like- or dislike- the rake, I just HATE sag, and so I don't want it to be sagging when I have a load in/behind it. On top of that, I'm waiting for the Ford tank and rear bumper mounts/design to get finished up, and both of those things are gonna add weight. I hate sag, and I wanna stay as low as I can.
As far as how much lift, I'm at 2.25" over stock right now, and it's about perfect. I'd be cool with anything under 3". The less angle my CV's and arms are at, the happier I am. In a perfect world, I'd be stock height on 37's. That's really not practical without cutting way more than I'm willing to, so it's just a balancing act.
All that said, 2.5" with the 882 with a 500lb rate should be tits, but I've found threads with members saying they ride stiff. [emoji849]

If I haven't said so before- my wife is amazing. She bought me new exterior window felt/rubbers for all 5 doors for my birthday. Seriously so stoked on those. It makes it look and feel so much newer just having those replaced. One got damaged in shipping, and the dealership I bought through completely left out the rear. They also aren't very prompt to get the missing and broken pieces shipped to me. Not thrilled with their service, but that's okay. I'll get good pics of the fresh rubber eventually.

I scuffed the headlight housings, projector shrouds, and stock chrome grille.

Shot it all with Adhesion Promoter, base coat, and clear coat. The clear is a two part product- meaning it has a hardener in it just like auto body painters use.
It layed down super flat, but I ran out halfway through, so the grille will need some wet sanding if I feel like making it perfect.

I'm not a professional, so- again- this didn't turn out perfect either. Good enough for me though.

Sorry if I am missing a piece here.. but I'm dying to find a good color match Thundercloud paint and it looks like you got it perfect. I need to do my grill as well (not a fan of the chrome). Where did you get the paint for it? Have any pics of the can for that (if it's a spray can)? :yo:

Aright, I hooked you up- I searched for automotive paint supply shops in your area, and called the first one to make sure they can mix the paint for you- they can.

You need to give them your paint code, and they can mix the paint and put it in an aerosol can for you. They will also be able to sell you a clear that has a catalyst/hardener in it that lays down awesome.
The cans are about $20/ea in my area- I would expect no more than $25 in your area. I didn't ask the guy on the phone a price.
Thunder Cloud Metallic paint code is 1D2.

Awesome!!! This is great news. I will get a large batch of these made up tomorrow and up on my site by the end of the week. Did the hardware work perfectly? That was my biggest concern sine the 80 series grille and 3rd gen grille are VERY different.

Yes! It did work perfectly. When I saw how little the screws actually went into the badge, I was apprehensive. But when I got it on(), the screws threaded in just enough, and the badge was held firmly secure. To make sure the screws were proper, I installed the badge without using the double-sided tape- so I KNOW the screws/washers are a perfect fit for the OEM '01/02 grille
