Ultimate Scion Headunit (stereo) thread

I recently installed a t1815 in my 3rd gen 4runner and it is great. I am not too happy with the radio reception as the fm plug (small antenna plug) is not used on the t1815. What are you guys doing to remedy this? Is there an adaptor that allows both plugs to be used?

I have searched, but cant find anything

Look for these on ebay, METRA 40-UV43 VEHICLE ANTENNA MALE TO FEMALE UNIVERSAL ADAPTER

So, if I just want to get an AUX input on my 2005 4-runner (I don't have one stock that I know of and I don't care about the USB) with a T1814 deck, what harness do I need, and do I need to do the resistor mod?

Thanks!

Scion Headunit in 4runner

Does anyone know if any of the new scion headunits would work in my 05 4runner with JBL? (2011 base scion radio)

Can anyone verify what I will need to put the 1809 in my 04 with jbl. Id like to buy one in classifieds if I can get it to work

If someone wants to add the T1819 to the list. It will work in a Gen 4 non-JBL with just a few parts from Toyota.

It has:
Bluetooth
HD Radio
Satellite Ready
and all the normal features.

In order for you to have full functionality you will need these parts from Toyota:

28 pin harness- PT546-00120-CH
Antenna Adapter- PT546-00120-AD
and if you want bluetooth PT546-74120-MC
and USB- PT546-00120-US

and for those wondering about the difference in color. Its a little off, but not that bad. Just has a little more red than the factory 4runner backlights.

Thanks, That looks great. I assume the sound is much better than the 4th Gen stock?

Did the T1819 fit without modifying the opening, or what was involved?

The sound is much better. It definitely has more power than the stock head unit. Its also nice to have HD radio and bluetooth.

No modifications required. You just need the correct harnesses.

Do you also need an iPod cable if you want to connect an iPod?

How about the console auxiliary input - does that work or anything needed?

Thanks for all the info!

It does not support the ipod cable and you will lose your aux. input. However it does let you keep your steering wheel controls and it dims with the rest of your dash lights.

If you want to be able to plug in an ipod or aux cable, you would need to purchase the PT546-00120-US USB cable.

I cant comment on the quality versus any other scion units because I have not used any of them, but it is much better than the factory 4runner unit.

Does anybody know where I can get an ipod/iphone cable with the new smaller apple connection? I've got an iphone 5, and a Scion Pioneeer 1809.

I'm considering buying the T1819 for my 2006 4Runner.
I just have a few questions...
Did you happen to take any photos of the back of the head unit?
Will all 4 adapters you mention above connect to this?
Or does it require "modding" or soldering?
I am looking for the most up to date model below $200 with Bluetooth.
Thanks!

there is an abundance of info on this topic. for a 2001 runner, what unit fits that is plug and play? who's got the answer? i need to know!
