Ultimate Scion Headunit (stereo) thread

In my quest to put the 2013 Corolla NAV radio in my 1997 4Runner I just found out that buying a pin with a wire (repair item) to install in the VSS and Reverse input of the radios 28 pin connector will cost 18 dollars from the dealer each. Screw that! And it isn't even the correct wire color.

Thanks everyone who contributed to this thread. I just purchased a PT546-00140 in "very good condition" for less than 100 bucks off partcycle.com.

I'll post up again when I do my install since I have the JBL stuff and there always seems to be questions surrounding it and upgrades

Hey guys. Just scored a T10015 head unit. Right now all I need is my Bluetooth mic to work. Is there an adapter I can buy to hook up my aftermarket mic from my single din Pioneer head unit? Will my Bluetooth streaming for music work if I don't have the mic hooked up? Thanks.

I doubt it. The Toyota mic was 48 at my local dealer. You may be able to stream music without the mic. But you will need the mic to do phone calls.

Bluetooth streaming will work. I just did the pt546-00140 / t10015 without the bluetooth mic and can stream music from my device.

I bought the Corolla version with NAV module and built in Satellite radio. I need to get the wires to install into the reverse and VSS connector positions and it's going in.

Anyone with JBL/RDS do this swap? I have a gap on both sides of the stereo

Do I need this kit? - Metra 95-8210 Dash Kit - It looks like it'll be too big for the pt546-00140 / t10015.

From some of the pictures I've seen it looks like there are different center trim / radio bezels 55405-35420 vs 55405-35430(jbl/rds)

Sup guys, ive been on the edge about swapping out my head unit on my 04. Im new to this community so can anyone help me out with recommending good units? I want a double din, but not sure if any of then would fit without cutting or shaving anything

The 2013 Corolla NAV Entune with XM in my 97. I still need to hook it to the VSS signal. Wire is run.

This lacks Voice Command via the call button like the T1819 I removed had.

The T1819 sounds cleaner I think sound wise.

Has anyone installed or know much about the Scion T1004 head unit? There is one for sale locally to me. Would be installed in a 3rd gen. I have seen very little to no info about this unit.

Hi all. Installed a T1028 in my 2006. Works great but keep getting this screen when I push the phone button. Any ideas what "loading consumption information " means. It never loads anything, just stays on that screen.

Google how to get to the diagnostic screens. That may be something that can be turned off.

I just looked in the diagnostic menu you can only get to from the volume settings and no consumption anything. Maybe the reset option on the diagnostic screen will make it go away.

Someone asked before I think, but can anyone answer why you would go to the trouble of getting a (maybe used) Scion head unit over an aftermarket new one? I did the math on buying a Scion unit and the wiring, and I can buy a new Boss nav unit for about the same money at Crutchfield.

Good point, I did the same. It looks like it is a better way to go. I am just doing research on and affordable sub $200 CAN aftermarket double din. I was originally was deterred by the wiring with aftermarket as my last install I found a little annoying more so brought on by a bad tight fit in a Jeep TJ.

I got my T1819 for 50 dollars with the harness adapters. If you want hands free calling the Mic is 56 dollars at the dealer.

I paid 200 for a 2013 Corolla NAV entune unit. And removed the T1819 for the NAV unit.

To me factory look deters theft. My brothers old Jetta was going to be totaled for the 40 dollar Walmart stereo that locals hacked out of his dash.

^ diggin that rig!!

hey everyone, as far as easy mods go, I am about to buy a Scion Pioneer headunit, T1807 model. I am only interested in getting an AUX option to play pandora from my galaxy s7 andoid, aside from the oem look and slightly improved sound quality etc. The headunit has an AUX feature from the back of the unit and I am trying to confirm if the part below would work to plug into my phone somewhere on the dash or glove box.

I really wanted to start an intro thread btw to introduce myself and ask this question but i need more posts. i am new owner of a 2004 sr5 - white with plans to mod it. I looked at 4 other 4rs and found one with very little undercarriage or body rust, 130k miles. sold my old wrx to get into the 4r scene.

Thanks in advance.
