I found another rattle source under glove box

My 2011 TE has two types of under glove box rattle and now seems all resolved.

First type of rattle occurs when starting acceleration from stationary or when AC kicks in when in stop. It became worse recently. Now thanks to cv470 for finding the cause and to Mtn.Rush for his good pictures. After I left the clip open Friday night, I haven't noticed this rattle anymore. This rattle seems depends on temperature so may not happen always. I will watch it for some days more.

My second type of rattle occurs when my truck hits slight bumpy road, there is plastic vibrating sound. After I search around under the glove box. I think I found the cause. Pictures posted below.

Here is the description: There is a white wire harness plugged into wire housing on the side that close to the driver side. My head needs to go underneath the glove box to see it. But it is the lowest connector so I can still reach it. The male and female connection contact seems loose. If I tap/scratch it using my finger nail, it rattles/vibrates severely. I cut a small piece of from a small wire clamp and inserted it between the bottom contact of the male/female connection. Now the rattle seems completely gone. I also put a piece of cardboard between the housing to avoid shaking.

2012 TE glove box noise

Can anyone repost pictures? I have the same noises in my 2012 TE and it is driving me insane.

Clicking sounds from under the glove box

Just this morning I noticed some clicking sounds coming from under the glove box. At first I thought something was loose inside. When I drove home from work today I could hear it again. So I pulled everything out and started the truck to see if that fixed it. No luck, and I can still hear the clicking sounds. Luckily I found this thread. I will try to remove the plastic clip on Saturday to see if that works. I might even zip tie the clip tighter, that way the wires are just hanging.

So the next day after I post this issue, the clicking sound goes away.
I just might have to wait for the sound to comeback, and then try to fix it. I just hope its the clip that's bad and nothing else.

75% of the way through my 700 mile drive home today this obnoxious sound started. To me it sounds more like metal than plastic... but it's so annoying I'm willing to try anything. It sounds like it's coming from behind the glove box. I noticed it while driving on the freeway.

That's probably going to be your blower motor, dude. I've had that clicking on 2 different blowers motors on my 4Runner and a few on my old Tacoma.

I noticed the clicking sound will come and go away every so often. Just for the hell of it I decided to turn on the defrost while the clicking sound was present and I noticed the sound stopped and didn't come back.

I have this noise under the glovebox in my 2022 ORP as well. I tried undoing the circular clip, but no difference. Will try to find that white wire harness tonight and see if that’s the cause. Sounds like a plastic clicking sound to me, pretty annoying

probably the cabin air filter with leaves in the fan. I clear mine out once I hear the sound from that area.

In case this is helpful to anyone else, I was able to fix the rattling sound coming from underneath my glove box near the blower motor. I tried unclipping the circular plastic clip holding the wire bundle in place, but the rattle came back after a few days, pretty intermittently. So I removed the cover and closed the circular clip back, and while I was down there noticed a yellow wire (I think coming from the airbag) that was tapping against the wire bundle and making the sound. I assume this was caused by me installing a dash cam, when I ran the power cord behind the kick panel trim and had to move those wires out of the way when routing the cable. All I did was push the yellow cable up and out of the way a bit (it’s pretty pliable), and now the noise is gone!

Simply unclip it and you dont even have to take the wires out they can rest in the bottom portion of the clip.

I just want to say THANK YOU. after a year of disassembly and reassembly, the little plastic clip was the issue all along and this fixed my passenger floor rattle
