Do they work well? I have seen reviews on these that say they cant play a DVD without skipping and the SD Card and USB card options arent good because they wont accept standard movie formats... just wondering what your experience so far is...
 
Looks good! Nice to see another 5th gen on here that's being used for emergency use. What brand are the visor lights that are you running? They look pretty bright

Speedtech. I went there as the price was better and they have the take downs in the front in case I need to see what I'm working on
 
The speedtech visor light has a lot of nice features on it. I especially like the led indicator on the back and how easy it is to change the flash pattern. I wish my feniex had those features lol.

You Sir are in the land of 4Runner "interceptors" ;-). All the HPD guys seem to choose them from what I saw when I lived there.

Lol yeah the 4Runner is the patrol vehicle of choice in Hawaii. It's functional and very reliable. My 2014 has 62000 miles on it and 90% is from patrol. I'm from the big island

Nice, Kona side or Hilo? Do they give you some sort of reimbursement or outright allowance?

I lived in Kaneohe for 5yrs, traveled all the islands monthly for work.... Lots of Aloha, then Hawaiian miles.... Might be getting that territory back once again after covering the islands for 8yrs, been gone now about 3yrs. I've heard Kona side has allot of building going on right now. Prob won't even regonize the area.

How's the flash back? They seem to seal pretty well to the windshield?

Nothing worse then rolling code 3 at 2am with your eyes unable to focus on the road.

Looks great. I'm short too, so would say go for the running boards, don't think they will ruin the look at all.

Yeah Kona is forever changing. Every time I go out that side there is a new condo or new subdivision popping up. I'm work over on the hilo side. Patrol officers get a monthly allowance that we use for maintenance of the vehicle.

Work took me away from the internets for a while
I have no clue. I'm in the public safety band and we have a license
 
Nice setup. I currently have a split interior bar in my front windshield like you do and I have a traffic device/warning stick in my rear window mounted inside. I'm installing a 47in light bar on my roof to replace the interior bar for now to see how I like it. Should be on in the next week or so. Right now my lights are blue/clear in the front and amber in the rear. I may put some side warning out the rear windows but haven't gotten there yet. I had side warning in my FJ and I liked it.

Can you take a picture from the seat cushion height on the passenger side facing the radio mounts by the 4wd knob? I have a scanner that I'm not sure where I want to place it. I'm also debating on getting a full switch box (instead of individual switches) and I'm trying to get ideas where to mount it.

Black rims would look nice but I pretty much say that to any vehicle lol.

I believe BaoFeng's all require a HAM License. You have to take a test but it's easy to get. A lot of people that wheel use HAM and/or CB so you should be able to find a thread here somewhere. You could always do a google search and you will find something.

I'm not sure where you got your info on requirements for operating a CB radio, but that's not true, you don't need a license to operate a CB radio!!

Maybe you confused shortwave radio and CB radio?

Dude, you misread the post, the radio he asked about is Ham not CB. It does require a license.
