Hello everyone, I hope I am doing this right. I am looking for a few suspension set ups I would like to do for my car. I drive a 2016 4R, and it has the Bilstein 5100's all the way around. It is on the stock springs. I would like to upgrade to something a little bit more substantial. I finally found a summer job and I start this Wednesday. My plan is to save for the majority of the summer and then likely buy at the end of the summer. I am looking for about 2.5-3 inches of lift. I like the leveled look. we bought my car with the Bilstein 5100's already installed, is there any way I can figure out how high it is riding? (how many inches of lift it has) I like the brand Toytec, Dobinsons, fox would be sweet, but its just too much for me and I do not run that extreme of trails or anything. I would love to hear some suggestions from all of you and some pros and cons oof different companies, and lifts. Thank you guys! I love this forum :thanks:

A great basic lift is the Eibach Pro Truck Kit. It will provide 2.75" in the front and 1.0" in the rear. The appearance is 'leveled' to my eyes. Most importantly, it reduces brake dive, cornering lean, and generally improves the ride.
I used the term basic, because this is essentially Eibach's version of the 5100 shocks AND their springs. The shocks have a different valving than the Bilstein's, most people who run this kit (according to Eibach and including myself) do not change out the UCA's. This kit is supposed to good for highway and wheeling.
If you are building a rock crawler, kings or icon would be more applicable.

take a pic of which groove the circlip is in on your front shocks, and I'm sure we can tell you what you've got for a front lift.
If you're on a budget and just looking to level, you can probably do that with the bilsteins. Maybe some springs will get you the height you want.
If you're looking for a dramatic change from the bilsteins, we'll need a budget....

I second all of this. Been running the Eibach Pro Truck lift for almost 35k miles and it's great. Zero complaints, although I did upgrade the UCAs.

Brand preference is usually determined by mix of personal preference, budget, and whatever is close to you for support when you need them. You can literally browse hundreds of threads here and get all sorts of feedback. A high end suspension seems overkill for a daily driver with mild off-roading such as your case. You already have the 5100 which is decent upgrade and still quiet and reliable.
Lift spacers are cheap and simple but could worsen the ride performance... A decent set of coils are not that expensive but need more work to install especially up front. Plenty of options around such as Icon, dobinsons, metal tech, eibach...etc.
I would save your hard earned cash for other mods or a real suspension upgrade (Fox, KING, Radflo, or any proper 2.5 shock) later on if you need it
This is great. thank you all for the responses!! I was in a hit and run on the 12th so I can not look at my shocks right now as my car is in the shop getting the damages fixed.. But as soon as I get it back I will look to see what setting the ring is on. I will be making about $3,000-4,000 this summer so i might save up for something a little bit nicer. Just wanted to get a feel for what people opinions were. How does Dobinsons stuff compare? anyone know?
