URD 7th injector tuning maps

It's time to do a little tuning on my URD 7th injector fuel map. I noticed I'm fairly well tuned at max load (5500 RPM and 6.5 psi for my setup) but I'm a little lean down around 3500 RPMs and ~4-5 psi.

Here's my map with my "typical load" conditions in gray.

In the next few days I'm going to start adding fuel at 2500 RPMs and bump up the pre-4500 RPMs by a tenth to start. I know all trucks run different but I'm curious to see other forum member's fuel maps--does anyone want to share theirs?

What all modifications are you running? I'll upload a couple of mine later today.

That's pretty cool. What gadget did you use to get that map displayed?

Looks like an excel export of the R4 Tuning software.

Just the SC, stock pulley, deckplate mod and full URD 7th injector kit. I'll add the 2.2" pulley down the road.

And yes, the screenshot was just how I play with the numbers in Excel.

Another thing to add perhaps, would be the elevation at which you normally operate.

I flaked on uploading my maps last night... I have a couple with different setups, all dyno tuned at WOT just above sea level (tuned in Kirkland, WA). And poorly street tuned mid range, also right about sea level.

One setup I have is the 2.2 Pulley, Supra 315cc Injectors, and Walbro 190pump.

Other setup is 2.2 pulley, stock injectors, full URD 7th injector kit.

I'll try to get them up today...
 
Update
URD had originally sent me the incorrect wiring diagram for my truck, so there was NO connection to the O2 sensor at all to make the closed loop enrichment feature work. I emailed URD and Gadget replied with a different wiring diagram for my model year truck, one diagram is for a 2000 model year with California emissions that *taps* the AFR sensor in the newer trucks, and another wiring diagram for the 2000 federal emissions model (mine) that *intercepts and modifies* the O2 sensor signal. When I say "taps" vs "intercepts," what I mean is the Cali version has one tap connection to the AFR sensor whereas the Fed Emissions version requires you cut the factory O2 wire and run that signal into the URD piggyback and back out to the factory ECU...i.e. 2 connections vs 1 connection on an AFR truck. I made that connection this weekend and now the AFRs drop to around 12.5:1 whenever boost exceeds 3 psi in closed loop (where it used to stay at 14.7:1 until open loop).

I have more tuning to do but need to wait for this to arrive:

I can't plug the serial cable into the URD ECU when it's in its mounted position due to space constraints, so this little piece will no longer require pulling the stereo bezel everytime I want to make an adjustment. More later.
 
Did some more tuning and I am seeing a trend. First off, I am tuning for 2nd and 3rd gear (manual transmission) because that's where my truck goes WOT the most. The AF ratio gets nice and fat (11.6:1) from 5000 RPMs to redline but I can't seem to get the numbers below 12.8:1 from 3000 RPMs to 5000 RPMs.

Here's my map and you can see I have added nearly 50% more fuel to the 3000-5000 RPM range (compared to the maps in my first post) and still have high 12.8-13:1 AFRs.

(Pay the most attention to the cells in the ~6.5 psi column and in the 3000 RPM-5500 RPM rows.)

Are you guys able to keep your AFRs below 12.8:1 in the 3000-5000 RPM range? And are you adding this much fuel? I'm at sealevel, btw.

I swear I responded... Crappy afghan Internet.

I checked my files and they're all quite old... When I get home in a couple weeks I will pull the current tune, and the old ones off my desktop.

I'm a little surprised how few people tune their setups. Power, fuel economy and driveability get better with each attempt.

Kinda what I was thinking. I was hoping to see more maps and learn a little more about them since I'll be ordering my 7th injector soon.
 
I highly agree that its crazy people dont tune there supercharged 4runners. I understand if its just the stock pully since trd made it to work that way but you would get so much more out of the motor.

Now when people put on pulleys, more/larger injectors, run rear turbos or anything not factory then dont tune is just insane in my eyes. I learned my lessons when I burned two motors from ages 16-18 tuning off knock and butt dyno. Just running a little lean and burned up valves.

Now I tune only with a WB02 and have tuned up too 500whp turbo charged cars on e85 and never burned anything since then. E85 is awesome and Im surprised more people dont run it on there runners that are running some forced induction. Better than meth injection anyday and works wonders.
 
I have said time and time again, I was disappointed with the performance and driveability with just the supercharger. Even the base URD maps were pretty far off, it has been the couple of times I've gone in and adjusted cells in the fuel map that really woke this 4runner up. There's a huge difference between now and stock tune. Now I'm just working on fine-tuning specific areas of the map.
 
URD advertises the base tune as good enough... Not many people look past that.

I think it is good enough for some people, but you never know if you don't check via wideband.

I'm not sure why, but my truck is requiring more fuel. I know the capacity is there because it gets nice and rich by redline but for some reason it's taking more fuel than I expected in the 3000-5000 RPM range.

Here's a video showing a 2nd and 3rd gear highway pull. The wideband spike to 17.6:1 is the gear change. You can see the AFRs are nicely rich near redline but a little leaner than I would like in those lower RPMs.

I should have dragged the columns over a bit, I wasn't expecting to hit 7.5 psi on a stock pulley, but you can see the edge of the blue square and figure it out.
 
Did Toyota put on a special ECU for Supercharged 4runners from the factory or did they just slap on the supercharger and thats it.

What im asking is did they put any different electronics in a supercharged 4runner vs a stock one.
