URD Spec-U Exhaust

Just picked up a full URD Performance Y-Pipe and Catback Exhaust system on because of their Cyber Monday deal. Did anyone else ceramic coat the Y-Pipe due to the heat issue?

Ceramic coating is just that a coating. Doesn't really shield components from the radiant and conductive heat it puts out.Best way is heat shielding...

Just confirmed. Gadget wants to redesign the exhaust before he releases it again. He needs a 5th Gen 4runner to use in CA or MD.

Anyone around one of his shops that can volunteer for it? :pray2:

Any update on this? It crossed my radar again.

I’m installing it today. Follow my Instagram. Shaolin.T4R for photos when I’m done.

I was mistaken, I thought the Y-pipe was being re-designed, not the Cat-back. Well crap, I guess I could have bought the Y-pipe already. Although might pick up the cat-back as well while I've got it disconnected.

looks like theres only space for the factory spare? its nearly touching from the looks of it?

You do not need to remove the spare tire to run this exhaust. If you decide to go a different route and get the URD HI-TUCK Catback exhaust then YES you need to remove the spare tire.

is there any more space for a bigger spare? for example your 285/70r17?

U-spec FJ is still an option...

I'm hoping it's the u-spec system that's getting redesigned... it had an equal length Y which would drastically help the exhaust note. I don't see it on the URD site. Strangely enough the FJ U-spec is still there. Aside from the last section and tip it should fit on the 4runner... Would have to fab the last bits but between the axles I thought these 2 frames were identical... Gadget

I’ve been debating on this URD 3” or the Borla 2.5”. Not sure about the Y-Pipe yet. I’m looking for a little extra power but not a V6 drag racing performance machine. Maybe an extra MPG or 2 and a little low end power.
