files are .m4a--would this prevent the drive from even showing up in the entune menu?

I plan to try an empty drive next and see if it shows up, then load a single .mp3 to check that...drive works on all other devices

How did you format the drive ?

I don't know if the system can read .m4a files, would need to look that up to confirm, I though it was mp3, and .wav files only.

I don't think that's going to work.

May have read in my manual what works.... I only use mp3

thank you for asking this question...as everything i use lately reads exFAT, that variable slipped past me. i reformatted FAT, tried it with a small number of albums with .m4a codec, and it recognized the drive

...now i'm reloading a larger collection and will see if this works
