USB - iPod/phone connection - Pandora vs Songs

When I plug my iphone into the USB Slot (I only have the BT phone hooked up, I didn't use BT for music), the songs on my iphone start playing.

But sometimes I want to listen to Pandora. So when I select Pandora, the car goes back to the the songs after 1 minute.

How can I "shut-off" my iphone songs and just listen to Pandora when I am plugged into the 4Runner?

Any reason you don't use bluetooth streaming? My iphone streams pandora perfectly via bluetooth.

I wish I could remember exactly. But try pausing your iPod then opening and playing pandora. I think that's how I get it to work. I know it's always a little tricky.
