Using 2X Spidertrax and 2X All-Pro wheel spacers?

I have Spidertrax on all four corners and love the look, but I think it could be better. JA said that the rear wheel could probably stand to come out ~.25" further than the fronts to sit equally flush with the fender flares. After having had the Spidertrax for a while now, I see what he means.

Using 1.5" All-Pro spacers in the rear and 1.25" Spidertrax in the fronts would accomplish this, but what what are the implications of different wheel base widths front and back?

Don't think it will make any difference other than strictly looks. I'd like first dibs though if you're going to sell your spidertrax;):

There shouldn't be any implications. I used to run 8mm spacers on the front of my vw and 20mm on the rears. The only thing over time the rear wheel bearing's could possibly wear faster, but thats something I wouldn't be to concerned about.

Thanks guys.

And Jet, if it comes to selling a pair of my Spidertrax I'll put you at the top of the list. I'm hoping though that I can find someone to trade a pair of my Spidertrax for a pair of their All-Pros and avoid buying/selling anything.

Is anybody using All Pros on a GenIV?

I'm positive I've seen All-Pro spacers in 4th Gen build threads.

They're hub centric just like Spidertrax. Only real difference is that they're not anodized and can be had in 1.25", 1.5" & 2". Why not use 'em?

I've got 'em. I had to call them to get 1.25 spacers as at the time they were not on the website. They are hub and rim centric and they are cheaper than Spidertrax to boot! I've used All Pro over the years and wanted to stay loyal. Been on for 3K now and no issues. They are standard aluminum color. :hatsoff:

Hey all-

I am interested in learning more about this mod-

Read all about possible premature bearing wear- I get it-

I am curious if anyone has tried this on a 4th Gen?

Pics?
Replies?
Suggestions?

I don't mean to hijack this thread but it might be a good place for this question. I was looking up the difference between all-pro and spidertrax and all I see is that spidertrax are anodized and the spidertrax installation guide says to use red loctite. All-pro spacers aren't anodized and require special lug nuts "ET" on the front (no loctite mentioned), whereas spidertrax doesn't mention needing a different lug nuts up front . Just trying to decided which way to go, anyone who does the 1.5 All-pro rear and 1.25 in the front (spidertrax or all-pro) I'd love to see pictures. Any other options of one vs the other (if it's not too far off topic)?

Great input martini- helps me decide on whether the costs of lugs for the all-pro justifies the lower costs or if its a wash?

What are you interested in learning about this mod?

Many people have done this on a 4th gen

It moves the wheels out so there not tucked into the wheel well, installing them is the same as putting on a tire

website here: Toyota Wheel Spacers

looks like you can get the complete set (1.25) front and (1.5) rears with lug nuts for $170 before shipping. still cheaper than the spidertrax. i'm going to be looking into this setup....

...but that would depend if i'll be running FJ wheels, since they have a 15mm diff in offset.

i just got my AP spacers today AND i ordered them yesterday!!!!! less than 24 hours from ordering them and they were in my hand!!!!! just lucky i guess, i got my order in before they UPS did their daily pick up and i live 100 miles from the shop so i got lucky. anyway, the build looks really good. reasons for going AP instead of spidertrax, i didn't want blue spacers since my truck is red and they were less money. anyway, i will get them on this weekend and see how they look. if the 1.25 isn't enough for the rear then i may go 1.5.

but to answer the question, i won't make a difference if you run two different brand or two different size spacers.

im interested to see what this will look like... the all pro spacers that are hub centric are only 79 a pair unlike spidertrax which are 97 a pair... and they are blue... you wont even see the blue. :withstupid:

i want to see this done cause i might go ahead when i buy wheel spacers and do the front and rear all pro's but 1.5 in the rear and 1.25 up front.

also want to know if there would be a big difference if i did this as i have an 03 with the more squared off fenders. yours is an 08?

got the 1.5" DS rear spacer in as well as the 1.25" AP wheel spacers. the pics below are with only the rear AP spacers on.

here is a shot with both AP 1.25 spacers in. wheels come nice and flust with the wheel wells. i had some rubbing issue with the plastic liner so i took the fronts out. i think it still looks fine with out the front spacers. i am going to take out the rears too just to see what they look like.
