v6 air filter housing - hose lead broke

It's been one of those jobs. The part of the air filter housing that the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose connects to broke, see picture below. All the salvage yards around here are closed on Sundays (there is one that does have the housing for $125), so i'm stuck without my car.

Is there anything else i can do? The part the hose connects to is gone, no clue what happened to it. Right now there is no way to attach the hose to the housing. Thanks.

Well there's a couple things you can do I suppose? You can try super gluing the piece back on (have had poor results with that, but if its just until the junkyards open it may work), you can drill it out and JB Weld a fitting like this into the housing:

Or you could cap the hole off, find a new vacuum source and route it that way.

Hi BW.
Is this a vacuum hose or atmospheric pressure hose? Is there meaningful vacuum in the air box?
Also could repost the fitting you mention? cannot link to it. (I know old thread)

I had the same problem. I broke off the protector, drilled and tapped the hole and screwed in a vacuum fitting. worked perfectly.

What fitting you use ? plastic, metallic?
was planning on this one (nylon) : Eldon James A1032-2-200BN Black Nylon Adapter Fitting, 10-32 UNF to 1/8" Hose Barb (Pack of 10): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

This is just an opening into into the airbox, nothing inside the airbox related to this broken piece, just a hole correct?
(Haven't removed my HCF to look at the inside of the airbox)
