Someone abandoned their car behind my shop for 3 days. I called the police and they came over to investigate. They said that it was not stolen. If I wanted removed, I'd have to pay a tow company to haul it away being that it is on private property. He did mention that if it was on state property, the state would pay to remove it.
So I pulled it about 200 feet across blacktop to the side of the road and vola, it is on state property.
The car was a big ass Lincoln Continental that was locked up, in park with the parking brake on.
My 4runner pulled in 2wd (too lazy to lock the hubs) without even breaking a sweat. I could not believe the pulling power.
I still giggle every time I step on the throttle.

I DRUGGED that B hard. The Steering wheel was locked to the left so it was being forced straight. The rear of that car had no tow hooks so there was no really good spot to hook it up to. I slipped my tow strap on the bottom of the shock mount and Dragged away. 4runner was awesome.
People leave their cars on the side of the road all the time here in NC. They even take the license plate off them.
If it was me, I would have spoke with the owner and got permission to leave it there.
If it was me, I wouldn't leave my car anywhere.
I sweat bricks when I leave it at the airport for more then a few days.
No Idea why it was left there. Out of state plates, and had about 30 or so car fresheners hanging on the turn signal switch and the mirror. Probably a pot head covering up some smell.
olice:Anyway, this car is safer at an impound lot then behind my building. It might have been vandalized or looted during the night.

Maybe the Lincoln has been watching you meticulously care for your 4Runner and after years of neglect from its current owner has decided to do something about it. It may be attempting to follow you until you adopt it...just a thought

Not one bit of interest, never even phased them. It looks OEM with the exception of the radiator.
They did question the input Parameters.
The Inspection computer number of cylinders. It gave the option for 4 or 6. I told the inspector that it had 8. So he typed in 8.
The computer then asked for the displacement size and gave the choice of 2700cc or 3400cc. The inspector had to manually type in 4.7 liter. The window screen also had Cubic Centimeters, and Cubic Inches measurements to choose from too.
Hooked it up to the 4runner and it ran its test. Flashed green and said "PASS".
