Vanguard nerf bars??

Has anyone ever ran these on their 5th gen? I ordered some and while they bolted up easily not to happy with them. The amount of opens space between the bottom of the door and the bar is huge. Which I should have paid more attention because the pic was on a limited and I guess the ground effects take up some of the space where my sr5 doesn't. Overall it seems like a good product and the mounting brackets were well made. I'm thing about taking them off and fabricating the mounts so they will sit higher. Here are some pics tell me what u think? I should of got rock sliders I believe lol.

Not a fan. It looks to me like there's something wrong with the mounting system or they're installed incorrectly. Not saying you did anything wrong, they just seem poorly designed and hazardous.

They could very well be mounted wrong I'm nowhere near an expert. Although we did check them with the directions many times lol. I've been known to screw some stuff up. I regret not going with nfabs or sliders. I know with the nfabs u either shave the rocke panels or get the trail kit. But with sliders like trail gear do u have to do anything like that, or do you just weld them right on?

They look to be mounted right...if you had the LE rockers that is. I recall that the OE Toyota running boards on the LE are roughly below the center line of the hub (right at about the height of the lowest lug nut).

I would definitely re-fab the brackets to mount them up higher, because quite frankly it looks really stupid right now, lol.

I thought I had to much space between my running boards and the body. I guess I dont. That is waaaay to much space to me. I hate to say, but it looks funky. I bet it’s very easy to get in. To me it looks like they might sent you a wrong brackets. When I had round running boards I didn’t have this much of space in between.

Haha I agree doesn't look good at all I was ashamed to drive in it to propose to my girlfriend today lol. She kept saying it looked fine, she just doesn't understand I'm taking em off Tuesday. See what I can re-fab if I can't they can sit in the barn. I did email them to see if they have different brackets for different models.

Thanks lots of great rides on this site to model after. I'm prolly junking the nerd bars . Lifting it Thursday, gonna get some black wheels may paint the stockers black don't know yet they look pretty decent to me. Prolly get sliders, and would love to get gobi or baja rack. And get rid of the weak looking tires.
