Viair Setup for OBA

Same here.

Where are you mounting the tank?

Missed your post, my bad. With some mild cutting and (ANOTHER) small bracket you can cram it into the rear jack compartment on the rear drivers side. Its a very tight squeeze, but it fits. I'll post up some pictures when I get it all squared away.

On the ARB site it says:

Pressure switch controlled air manifold system regulates pressure between 9.3Bar [135PSI] and 10.3Bar [150PSI] suited to air tools and all ARB Air Locker equipped vehicles.

Maybe my gauge is just off by 10PSI...I will test it more tomorrow.

Also everyone that I have seen is running the tank in-between the compressor and the manifold. This isn't really and option for me as the manifold is under the hood and the tank is in the rear. SO which option do you think is better:

1. T fitting directly on the compressor output with one line going to the 1 gallon tank and the other line going to the manifold.

2. Compressor connected to the manifold, and then connected to the 1 gallon tank.

Does it really matter? This is my first OBA setup, I'm much more comfortable with a bunch of wires and a multimeter haha

Doesn't matter ....Whichever is easier since the manifold is really just like a really small tank or you could put the manifold in the back with the tank so your line to your rear locker will be shorter and away from the exhaust manifold heat.

edit: I just looked up the ARB Air Locker instructions and it says.....

"For ease of installation, quality of air supply, and a high level of
dependability from your Air Locker(s), ARB strongly recommends use
of a genuine ARB Air Compressor, however, the Air Locker air system
can be operated on any alternate air source that meets each of the
following guidelines:
a)Must supply a minimum of 85PSI [586kPa].
b)The supply must never exceed 105PSI [724kPa].
c)The Air source should have a tank capacity that enables it to
actuate the Air Locker(s) in one charge so that no hesitation
is experienced when locking one or two differentials."

Wonder what's up with that?
