Before I made jokes about turning the radio up, but not sure I can ignore it much longer. At any speed above 30mph, I get this high frequency hum coming from what sounds like inside the cab by my lower left foot. For the life of me I cannot figure out where it's coming from.
Some observations:
The frequency (pitch) of the noise does not increase with speed or acceleration.
No change to the sound with the vehicle in neutral and engine idling at speeds over 30.
After getting tires rotated/balanced today it helped some, but the sound is still present.
It seems loudest and most prevalent between 30-40mph; more sporadic between 60-75mph.
If I were to put a label on the materials rubbing, to me, it sounds like two metal objects. I can't really hear any clicks or rattles (no individual sounds), just a steady hum. Kind of like how loud tires sound... But different.
Case of beer to whoever nails it. And to top off the thread, for your entertainment pleasure, Marky Mark with "Good Vibrations" seems fitting.
